The most dramatic thing about the bodymod community aren't the people who get this stuff done (they're usually pretty chill and calm people), it's the drama from everyone surrounding them and (over)reacting. They aren't hurting anyone.

Hate to say it but this has been performed, and only recently as well.
Like nipple removal, this is fairly rare (I think this has only happened once so far). Ear pointing and tongue splitting are way more common.

Wouldn't that fuck you up in some way? I mean, your outer ear protects your inner ear from all kinds of shit and probably plays some role in hearing (like directing the noise or something). This just seems like an incredibly bad idea. Like that guy who put a metal rod through his ankle.Hate to say it but this has been performed, and only recently as well.

Because removing parts of the body that are functional is substantially more unnatural and wrong than removing parts that are aesthetic and don't actually do anything important.
