They should have let the franchise die with dignity after Brosnan's last Bond movie.

That's what I meant, in a symbolic sense it seems like with Connery's passing the character as a whole is now dead, much like Stan Lee's passing definitely seem to signal to me that Marvel comics is dead.He was probably talking about Connery's death, not the end of his tenure as Bond.
Of course they understand. It's about demoralization. Rip down the traditional culture and replace it with new manifestations of the ruling political orthodoxy. Shame and punish anyone who disagrees. Makes the population easier to control. The fact that 007 is now a black woman is beyond parody, they really don't understand how fucking bizarre shit like that is?
There was nothing dignified about Brosnan's last Bond movie. It was the one with Berry. It was really bad. They should have let the franchise die with dignity after Brosnan's last Bond movie.
One good movie out of five by the looks of it.while you can debate how good his run overall was
Goldeneye was good though. Sean Bean was a great villain, and Natalia is best bond girl by far. There was nothing dignified about Brosnan's last Bond movie. It was the one with Berry. It was really bad.
The Craig Era has been poisoned by The Bourn trilogy and Nolan's Batman, and action flicks becoming self-important and dour, but Brosnan's Era could be very goofy in a way that hasn't age well at all. Bad effects, childish dialogues, non-sense action setting...
Anyway Bond will just be remade again and again in uninteresting ways until it stops making money. You don't care about dignity when you are making millions of dollars.
That was his first bond, not his last. I would need to rewatch it to refresh my memory.Goldeneye was good though. Sean Bean was a great villain, and Natalia is best bond girl by far.
painful as it is to even think it, it does seem that the real inheritor of "intentionally cheesy but enjoyable and colorful and snarkless quipping action" cinema may infact be the fucking Fast and the Furious franchise, which is just utterly depressing
Which one? I really liked Casino Royale. One good movie out of five by the looks of it.
Two good, one OK (Quantum), one bad, and thisOne good movie out of five by the looks of it.
Goldeneye still holds up as one of the best Bond films of the series. Die Another Day is bad, but oddly enough it's still watchable. It's a "turn your brain off and relax" kind of film akin to some of Roger Moore films, with some moments of horrendous CGI to laugh at.That was his first bond, not his last. (Kickass musical theme tho)
Parasailing with the fake cgi glaciers anyone?Goldeneye still holds up as one of the best Bond films of the series. Die Another Day is bad, but oddly enough it's still watchable. Do you really want "here's a woman that can take down men taller and strong than her with her bare hands, lol whoops shes a lesbian, she doesn't want men"? Because we obviously know that's where the movies afterwards is headed to if follow-ups are made, not "007 but female".Here's question, if we have to have a female 007, why can't she be sexy? Someone who guys fantasize about as much as women used to fantasize about Bond.
A badass but sexy femme fatale type is well within the whole spy fiction wheelhouse, oh wait, male gaze bad.
Yes.Goldeneye was good though. Sean Bean was a great villain,
Lol no. She’s not terrible and is certainly leagues above Tanya Roberts and Lois Chiles, but Tracy and Vesper are the top Bond girls.and Natalia is best bond girl by far.
Unforgiven. (But I know you weren't really asking.)Has there ever been a deconstruction of anything that wasn't utter shit?
Because they're communists. What is up with modern media and culture being absolutely obsessed with this idea that they need to kill the past? Like, we need to let go of anything "old and traditional" and totally focus on "moving on from those outdated ways"?

People need to get "woke" to the fact none of these projects are meant to make money. Money is not the point. The people bankrolling this shit could care less if they turn a profit. What they care about is exercising total political control with culture used as the vehicle of embedding that control all the way into your living room.
Correct if I'm wrong, but isn't James Bond actually his real name instead of a false one because he's that much of a badass where he doesn't care? I know Skyfall touched on this, but I thought the books confirmed it a long time ago.And Lashana? Lynch isn’t 007 and isn’t going to be 007. Her having the code name for part of NTTD (which she then relinquishes to Bond) is all it sounds like. Maybe she’ll have to train the next Bond to bridge the Craig era with whoever is coming next but I don’t get the handwringing over some chick temporarily getting the title for half a movie.
Yes in the books and movies he’s James Bond, son of Andrew and Monique Bond. When he marries Tracy, she takes his name.Correct if I'm wrong, but isn't James Bond actually his real name instead of a false one because he's that much of a badass where he doesn't care?
