There have been maybe one person I've seen who'd actually maybe be that way. (As in, want to be rid of sex characteristics, but not gain the opposite sex's characteristics.) But most of what I've seen is a lot of creepy gender determinism (?) coming from the Tumblrtards. "Oh, I'm female, but I like boyish things! I must not be a woman!" sort of thinking is rampant and it's frankly creepy. It's like they're completely unaware of how sexist they really are and how archaic such an idea is.
Other stuff also plays a factor in the current clusterfuck of identity politics- the demonization of those who hold that the definition should relate to dysphoria, the simultaneous pulls between wanting to fit in and wanting to be unique that teenagers generally have, people wanting to be special snowflakes, and the fact that this shit is the only thing being bandied about in a lot of places.
Point is, shit's FUBAR regarding anything relating to any LGBT issues, especially T issues, right now.
