Megathread Non-binary genders / Enbies - When Male and Female Aren't Special Enough

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Tumblrinas have this idea that "normal" men and women behave like if they've just come out of a 50s sitcom.

So if you're a girl but you're not into baking, wearing flowery skirts, etc...You're instantly a tranny/demi/non-binary whatever. Because nowadays tomboys don't exist, and things like baking or fashion are part of our biology somehow.

That's because in their world, genders only exist because of those norms and stereotypes. Gender was constructed by the white patriarchy to sort everyone into neat little labels so it's easier to oppress them.

To be frank, nobody in the real world is going to care for this. What does a nonbinary person irl even look like? The only way their going to get their asspats are from their dumb friends who can see their bio and say "OH OK, those are your pronouns"
Like do they snap and piss themselves when someone uses a male/female pronoun rather then their " zer/xir" pronouns? Because if so, life is way harder then that.

I respectfully disagree. They want to snap and piss themselves and make a big noise about transness, but gender is an online dress-up game for these guys. A mumbled "-m-my pronouns are ch-c-chis/chi-s-self" is as bold as most of them will ever get.

Why cant we just have male, female, not identifying with anything cuz it's lame and not giving a fuck?

The unfortunate thing is that 'not giving a fuck' is basically what a lot of genderspergs are trying to live and express, but instead of erasing the boxes and saying "I'm a straight woman and I like trucks, so what?" they just draw endless new ones.

The irony that you outline here is that by trying to defy these entirely subjective stereotypes purported by commercialization, these tumblrinas only prove they actually buy into it the most because they can't actually defy them without first believing it's all 100% truth.

I suspect all these special snowflakes wish they were clams - which can change their sex to self-impregnate or something.

A lot of them are immature with childish brains. Children (specially ones in the autistic spectrum) can have a subconscious fascination with androgyny (young tomboys that grow up feminine and heterosexual come to mind).

This probably explains tumblr's weird obsession with non-binarism. You know, overgrown womenchildren being guided by raw emotions and feelings.

Going to add: An atypical autism syndrom aka one more commonly found in females is gender confusion/not being sure about gender and all that. So autistic females being more into thus makes perfect sense

I didn't know this about autistic females. But it explains a lot. Autistic people often do feel big disconnect to themselves and other people so it kinda makes sense. Not to mention masculinity is always less fluid. Possibly due to testosterone hormones at work.

Genderqueer has been a thing for awhile, but it isn't a point of pride. Most genderqueer adults I've met (in the early 2000's) considered it a very private subject, and found their inability to self-identify more frustrating than anything. They expressed a complete lack of satisfaction when trying to fit in with either men or women, and just wondered where they belonged.

I see none of this on display at tumblr, because it's tumblr, where personal struggle is more of a pick'n'mix arrangement than something necessitating years of expensive counseling.

Hmm, this explains some things. I have an IRL friend who's gone genderqueer, and yes, she's autistic. The thing is, she's srs bsns about it, trying to get black-market testosterone and shit like that. I seriously worry about her sometimes.

Overall, though, I tend to agree with the posters here that nonbinary stuff on Tumblr is mostly BS. It comes across as just another version of the gotta-catch-'em-all approach to disorders, kintypes, and everything else Tumblr loves to fetishize. The more labels you have, the more you exist. I whine, therefore I am.

Come to think of it, the ones that use hormones and shit like that really are worrying. It's one thing to act like a fool and say you're some agender asexual demkinderfindersexual or whatever, but it's another thing to permanently deform your body doing something drastic like that. It goes from a cringy phase to a worrying trend very fast in that regard.

Well, you don't see Tumblrinas buying black market testosterone or estrogen because they just want to follow another trend. It's all about getting followers and attention on Tumblr. In my country, Tumblr's stupid shit is starting to spread, but what I find the funniest is that the people who I know pretend they're uberspecial on Tumblr, but are regular fucking pansies in real life. None of them bitch about using the wrong pronouns. I have this ""friend"" who's claiming to be a agender on Tumblr, with they/them pronouns. When people 'misgender' her on Tumblr, she gets 'triggered' and has an 'anxiety attack', but when you call her 'she' in real life, she doesn't say a word. It's literally all an act.

That's rather interesting. I always pictured Tumblrites as the flakey ultra-passive kinds who fish for attention like that on the Internet.

Probably from the same people who were claiming that calling Hillary Clinton by her first name is sexist, comes this article shared by some chicks (err, non-binary agender free-thinkers) I went to high school with.

Note the Steven Universe, swamp hair and problem eyebrows (by the way, thick, ugly brows are the new cat-eye glasses). A glimpse into the article...

Then Facebook suggested to me these articles that totally look like trolls but probably aren't (Poe's Law).

Yes I know I'm posting Facebook in the Tumblr subforum. Fuck you.

It's not like people and road signs tend to refer to politicians by last name only, or anything perfectly sensible like that.
I'd bet my comfiest pair of pants that if for some reason people did use "Clinton" for both people, they'd be complaining that lumping Hillary in with her husband is sexist.
