Megathread Non-binary genders / Enbies - When Male and Female Aren't Special Enough

From the cases I’ve seen, the majority who tend to gravitate towards the NB stuff seem to teen girls who are late bloomers or find themselves growing extremely awkwardly; and often never stopped being awkward for some of the older ones.

You know, introverted ugly duckling types.
That shit makes me sad. I remember several awkward looking girls back in middle school, but by the time our junior/senior year of high school some of those awkward ones had developed into swans over the summer, and their proportions had evened out etc. It's depressing to think some of these people aren't going to get there because they are taking hormones or whatever the case is.

Non-binary people are just cis people who underperform as their gender. They're ugly and not feminine/masculine; but instead of just coming to terms with that, they want a special label for themselves. Too bad it only makes them look astoundingly more r.etarded, and identifying as NB doesn't make you interesting or equal to your better-looking and more sociable peers in any way.

Can we stop using stupid-ass terms like cis and just say 'normal people' like reasonable human beings? These people are definitely next-level attention seekers but I think I'd argue troons are worse simply because they're more likely to be violent or abusive due to the correlation with unchecked mental illness. That said, none of them are good and being 'better' than a troon doesn't mean much. It would be depressing to see how many people fail at simply existing as what they are, if it weren't so fucking funny.

gonna have to disagree with that dawg, i think cis people should make the word theirs and not rely on faggot troons trying to use it as some sort of weak insult

I also disagree, if we let them define things in whatever fashion they so choose by "making it ours" they're only going to take a mile where we meant to give an inch. They don't get to change definitions to make themselves feel better, 'cis' people are just straight up normal human beings. Troons are the odd ones, so they're the ones who need to be categorized elsewise. I'm not sure if this is the right thread for such discussion though, so that's all I got to say.

Hm. I wonder if polargender was created by Gen Z because they saw all the millennial troons and thought "good god, this does not age well!"?

The medical term before "cis" got wide usage was "natal."

So there's a valid alternative.

I think the sad irony of Tumblr /Twitter is that despite how much they crow about body positivity, very few young people in those circles are actually able to internalize any of those messages because those same circles -resent means to practically implement them. Diet, exercise, and other general life style changes that help with appearances & mood are unthinkable when your concept is that you’re already perfect, Tumblr/Twitter art attempting to celebrate "unconventional" beauty/appearances makes everyone into monstrous caricatures that even they don’t find appealing, advice on how to dress for your body type are shunned so a lot of them end up wearing fashion disasters that see ill-fitting or I’ll-suited and therefore likely to be very uncomfortable, and even basic "be comfortable in your own skin and ignore everyone else" clearly don’t work because those messages never go deeper that "ur perfect" or blaming outside forces like the patriarchy rather than giving people something tangible to hold onto when dealing with insecurity.

Combine that with the "men looking to rape you are behind every corner" that‘s plastered everywhere by media and academic institutions and it’s no wonder that insecure women going through a lot of growing pains suddenly find the concept of being this vague non-girl label so appealing.

I've been spending more time on twitter lately and it's really discouraging seeing so many young teenagers with ages 14-17 in their profile bio identifying as nonbinary or transgender. It's mostly young girls who don't want to be like typical hyper-feminine high school girls so instead of just being tomboys, they identify as male or non-binary. Or young boys who aren't as strong or masculine as other boys so instead of just accepting they like feminine things they put on a skirt and lipstick and pretend to be a girl. It genuinely makes me sad for these kids who have underlying mental health issues like depression and anxiety and instead of trying fix themselves they double down and pretend to be something they aren't. No wonder so many of them kill themselves.

The worst part about all of this is I can't even say anything about it publicly or I'll get labelled as a bigot.

Call me optimistic but I'm sure that this is something that many of these kids will safely outgrow. High school's always turbulent and people will generally be self-aware, dumb and catty about the most minor shit no matter what the current culture is and some people will try and get around that by not wanting to be a "normie". Tale as old as time.

Of course, it's definitely going to be interesting later on if anyone goes through a phase like this and has to explain why Dad is wearing lipstick in the yearbook to the kids.

According to Blaire White’s interview with a detransitioned woman, there have been an increasing amount of detransitioning videos, which means more people are realizing that trooning out isn’t the best way to go. Hopefully this will extend to kids dropping the idea of physical transition before they go under the knife.

That's why I think there's a silver lining to the whole enby thing, there's not nearly as much of a hard commitment to consign yourself to the tender mercies of the transitioning industry.

Late, I know, but some women won't be swans. It's what explains the phenomenon of the mid 20s/30s female enby who's into men. Her friends are getting married and having kids and she's not. This is true even if she's thin. A lot of women simply aren't attractive, and when you're 25 you can't pretend it's because you're finishing puberty anymore. It's also why a lot of them really pile on the over the top makeup and have big glasses--hiding their face.

What’s wrong with them? Have you never seen a real naked woman before?
Unless you mean the post top surgery ones and yeah, that’s unfortunate.

I mean all three of these are kinda weird, but those long-ass tiddies are both hilarious and a little disturbing.
/off-topic, but I have a hard time believing Kate Leth has "rockin' anime tiddies".

Also, I don't take Kate Leth for being the kind of person who has any dysphoric tendencies at all, which makes it all the more hilarious that she makes comics like this talking about having dysphoria and shit. But I don't know shit about Kate Leth so I'm not entirely qualified to make that assumption. Though, how does one have "non-binary dysphoria" at all?

That’s how natural large breasts look. They’re not perfect round spheres.

She wears a lot of makeup. They all do. It’s weird, because nerdy women generally don’t, and yet it’s the ones who are ‘non-binary’ who pile it on.
