People will admit to being wrong when they see the value in this admission and the lessons that such perspectives can bring. This rarely comes about without the consequences of them being wrong fucks up their lives in an undeniable way. Many times in life I was told exactly what I should do or not do to fix some issue I was bitching about. Only much later after I hadn't fixed the problem(s) I was having and my life was far worse because of it did I think, "Oh yeah, [person] told me about this years ago!" Then I did what they said to do and things got better.

Now I understand the value of changing my mind, admitting I've got a shit ton of problems that I can and should resolve, and listening to people who've long tread the path I'm taking my first steps on but it took one hell of a hard lesson for me to get here.

I say spend your time and resources on improving yourself. If you become the man you actually want to be others can be guided by your example.
