The Michigan Attorney General declared Thursday that President Trump’s efforts to force a recount in the state through the courts are racist.



Democrat Dana Nessel bizarrely contended that the lawsuits centre around the notion that black people are to blame for voter fraud.

“Really the themes that we see, that persist, are this: Black people are corrupt, Black people are incompetent and Black people can’t be trusted,” Nessel declared.
“That’s the narrative that is continually espoused by the Trump campaign and their allies in these lawsuits,” the AG claimed, as reported by The Detroit Free Press.
Nessel’s “proof” to back up her claims is that Trump’s lawsuits are focused on Detroit, rather than outside counties in the state. Because Detroit has more black residents, that somehow makes Trump’s lawsuit racist.

Of course, Detroit is the biggest urban area in the state, so it makes perfect sense that Trump’s suits are focused there, as that’s where the most votes are.

The Detroit Free Press reported this week that Trump has filed a suit in federal court alleging that “there was enough wrongdoing involved in counting votes in Detroit that a judge should temporarily prevent the certification of election results in the city and throughout the state.”

The suit has over 100 affidavits, according to the report.

Nessel has charged that Trump is “forum shopping,” for courts that will be sympathetic to his challenges.

“In my view, this is really a brazen case of forum shopping,” Nessel said, adding, “I will add that forum shopping and judge shopping are my least two favorite shopping seasons.”
She proclaimed that if she had tried such a move “this baseless and this frivolous, I would be sanctioned and I would likely be looking at a loss of licensure.”

Except those "mishaps" and "convenient coincidences" are perfectly explained or just made up entirely. International election observers said that it was fair. Election workers for the states, in both parties, said there was nothing screwy going on. Unless you think there is a world-wide conspiracy against Trump, in which case you are not even worth debating because you're so retarded, there was nothing going on.

Vote counts don't matter at this point. From what I gather the game is about making certification impossible. It can be achieved by demanding recount, reporting fraud etc.

Why can't your election scrutineers simply raise concerns when they see them? Why does it need to be such a costly and frankly overly litigious manner of ensuring fair is fair?

We have an independent electoral commission across all states. All parties have their people there to watch the count. Why can't someone simply put their hand up and say "hey, there is some fuckery going in here please check it out?" That's what we do. Your hodgepodge manner of conducting elections is embarrassing. This shouldn't be considered a partisan statement.

Our most recent state to have an election was in Queensland, which was held on 31st October. One seat, for example, went to a recount and results of that came back today. It was a two-vote difference. Did it change the election? No.

You folk need to standardise the way you conduct your elections. I know it's probably a pain in the arse to make it happen, but carrying on the way you do will not change this. I think as time moves forward elections will become more divisive. No one wins in that situation.

You need to be able to stand up and proudly say this election was fair. Sure your side of politics may have lost, but at least you know it was conducted in a fair manner. That's not currently happening.

Elections, like the COVID-19 response, is left up to the individual states to handle. This is good, because it keeps one set of fuckups from ruining the whole thing, this is bad because you have no standards and it winds up coming down to individual states. Most places have "independent observers" for the election and counting process, and there isn't really any recourse aside from the courts if the local election authority says "nothing to see here" when complaints are raised.

It's now been a week and a half. Are we winning yet?

The presidential race wasn't even the important one. Dems still lost their bid for senate majority, and Republicans are slated to get the magic "51" number. Dems also lost seats in the House. But, until at least 2022, Mitch McConnell is essentially POTUS. There is nothing significant that Biden will be able to accomplish without the Senate. Court packing? lol nope. Obamacare expansions? lol nope. Gun control? lol nope. They will probably let him eek out a few very minor accomplishments just to avoid the "they only ever obstruct REEEEEEEE" arguments, but his great return to Obama's (read: shitty) American dream? Nope. He can wring his hands and try to bypass Congress with EOs but that can be challenged in the courts and raised to SCOTUS which will shoot down anything unconstitutional.

This election was a very good example of a Pyrrhic victory for the Dems - yeah it looks like they ousted Bad Orange Man. But they put together the "largest coalition in history" and "got more votes than any candidate in history" and they still had to rely on hijinks and a full blown fucking pandemic to even scrape by with what they got, and the Bad Orange Man actually gained a significant number of votes, many more than he had last time, indicating his support has actually grown/cemented itself further. They spent hundreds of millions of dollars to fund Senate races that were a bust and lost their bid for Senate majority, and they are now looking at going into the fruits of their labor with a Senate that is fully opposed to them and 70 million people convinced they stole the presidency. They lost seats in the House - not enough to flip it back to R but enough to show the "blue wave" is receding and that the rank and file Dems are still at risk regardless of what AOC or "the squad" do. There is no significant enthusiasm for Biden, and in the end, winning meant separating from the radical elements on the far left and the progressives, so they have split their own base like it's a Tea Party moment for the left.

2022 may well hand the Republicans the House as well as maintenance of the Senate and 2024 will almost certainly have a Republican president. Whether it will be a shitposting legend like Trump remains to be seen, but after 4 years of failed economic policy, shitty foreign policy, and straight up retarded domestic affairs policy, people will look back to the days of Trump and think "well he might have said some dumb shit but at least I had a house that wasn't in the projects when he was in office"

Pretty much. The Dems will need to win both seats in Georgia, which is unlikely, especially if Trump decides to campaign as a final fuck you very much. The GOP have also taken 10 seats in the House, and are likely to pick up a few more. There's always a 25-50 seat swing from the incumbent POTUS in the mid terms, so even if they can scrape some kind of agenda together it will have to be incredibly modest and centrist to get passed in the first 12 months of Biden's term. This will of course massively upset the far left, who're well known for their easy going disposition. Fun times.

Among the Q-tard crowd they're convinced Trump has clear evidence of voter fraud and will shortly unleash the storm. I'm inclined to think that's cringe nonsense, but it's 2020 so who the fuck knows?

Anyway it really doesn't matter. Trump is making his play to make himself indispensable to the GOP. As the kingmaker he'll control the Republican party. Want my 40-50 million base? Then kiss the ring bitch. Trump will not be touched, no example will be made of him or his family, the GOP leadership won't allow it and Biden can't risk the chaos and violence that would ensue. I doubt he'll run in 2024 but for sure he'll decide who does.

The good news from a right wing perspective is that the Republican base is just as aggressively irrational as the Dems. This is great for the country in the long term. Only until the left truly fears the right, genuinely believes we'll be taking them for helicopter rides if they don't BTFO will they calm down and allow room for normal politics again. Or else we'll have a civil war and settle things that way.
