Oh hey, random rasslin autism interspersed with a bleak thread! If I may, I wanna whinge about Rhea simps on social media (and also WWE booking practises more broadly).

I grew up watching rasslin like most men my age, so it's easy to say that Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio's dynamic actually mirrors Eddie Guerrero and Chyna's dynamic from WWF well over two decades ago. Eddie was my favourite rassler growing up, and I eventually came to adore Chyna thanks to my dad's old SmackDown tapes and WWE network re-streams. I started watching current WWE again because Dominik and Rhea's shenanigans on-screen remind me a lot of Eddie and Chyna. That being said, I can't help but feel like the bookers are... fetishising, Rhea a touch too much for my comfort? Some context:

Chyna was the self-professed Ninth Wonder of the World who shunned women's wrestling altogether in favour of competing in the men's division. To date, she is the only woman to ever compete in the "proper" Royal Rumble. Eddie and Chyna's romance arc definitely had elements of late Attitude Era raunch, but Eddie was a devout and married Christian who proactively shunned any angle where he must get physical with a model (i.e. groping, kissing, etc). Even though Eddie and Chyna never once kissed during their entire time on screen, they had such fantastic chemistry together. Their chemistry on stage was the by-product of Eddie being a sincere friend to Chyna; their on-screen romance also helped tremendously with her self-image issues. Honestly, if I were a chick, I'd fall head over heels for that charming Latino with a greasy mullet calling me mamacita and begging for my forgiveness like a scene out of some cheesy telenovela (but that's neither here nor there).

Dominik and Rhea's on-screen relationship is way more raunchy than I'm comfortable with. Keep in mind that both Dominik and Rhea are engaged to other people, and their actual partners are featured semi-regularly on Instagram stories and relationship milestone posts. It's one thing for Eddie to call Chyna his mamacita before styling on Chris Jericho for the first time, it's another thing entirely for Rhea's gimmick to basically be "Dominik calls me mommy too!" and pinning other women ass-first for the 3 count in the women's division. If you've ever followed a wrestling meme page, thirst posts about Rhea Ripley's ass are basically the lowest common denominator nowadays. Rhea Ripley's engagement announcement also got an assload of simps on Instagram to be like "wait wuh, yall ain't really doin this?" and I'm like "bruh, quit watchin rasslin for femdom shit like a pervert and go find some bizarre Japanese game show to beat your meat to."

You can deal with lot of shit but people with addictive personality are the worst.
