There has to be a control factor in this. Most abusers want control over their victims and what he did is that through one of the worst means possible. It demeans, humiliates, dehumanizes, and violates victims through a repeat cycle of abuse. When it comes to attacks like what he committed, there will obviously be physical symptoms (i.e. repeat trauma) that can cause victims to question their reality or blame themselves for not noticing. This isn't even mentioning the psychological and physiological affects this can have (for example, sexual trauma has been known to cause some women to instinctively close their legs, even in consensual and enthusiastic sexual situations.)Crimes like this confuse the hell out of me. Why would I want someone else to have sex with my partner?
TLDR: horrifying, especially in the health department. Has to be about control in some fashion.
