Women, nurses or assistants, are required to stand in during the exam when I went to a male gyno. At least it was that way years ago, the only time I went to a male one. The way things are now and since male and female has lost meaning in medical fields and law, it might be different.

I always forget there are male gynos. I never went to a male one, as I found many of them were old as sand. One of the most upsetting facts of this case is that there were in fact women assistants or nurses in the room for many of the incidents who turned and looked at the wall or the countertop. They were afraid of losing their jobs because it had already been made clear by the time those rules came into place that Columbia was going to protect their reputation above all else.
