Spy x Family is super cute and meant to raise birth rates.

Theres anime made for women, its just the most globally popular is shonen, made for boys and teens. Golden Kamuy is a historical war fiction that has a lot of female centered fan service as a change (as in the sexualizing is done to buff soldiers) , good story though. Gundam nudity in the past had always been kind of clinical, and most of the focus is a war drama. Theres more but i dont wanna type 10k words lol

It's totally fair to feel this way. I have a few of my shows that I'm aware, after re-examining them have problematic elements running through them. Hell, look up my username and you'll immediately know what I'm talking about. I was a teenager when I watched the Love Live! franchise and I still have it as my guilty pleasure show, but I recognise that there is a sizeable male audience that is... Concerning. I also think Kill la Kill is a brilliant show about fascism, I was mesmerised by it when I was younger, clothing, nudity and sexuality is a huge theme that I think is dealt with well enough, but I understand why it would leave a poor taste in some people's mouths. Plus a lot of people miss the point of the show.

Spy x Family has been a good time, except for some reason the child that has a crush on the main character's adopted father and the writers harp on it a little too much. Of course, the easy one to point to would be Studio Ghibli films. A lot of them are brilliant, a few of them are a miss though. Spirited Away is one of the best anime films ever rated for a good reason. Dungeon Meshi is also looking very promising, the manga author is a woman so it's got that going for it. People have mentioned Revue Starlight in this thread too I think, I think it's okay. Has a few annoying plot elements I take issue with. I'd also bring up Sonny Boy, a bit of a mind bender, but I'm motivated to rewatch it to see if I can figure it all out. A bit ago I watched a show called The Aquatope on White Sand and it was wonderfully refreshing because it has the characters transitioning into young adulthood instead of the whole thing being a high school setting. Land of the Lustrous is also very interesting, but the rest of it might not be adapted for a while due to the studio being busy with another project.

Honestly, it's sad that you have to sift through so much bullshit in anime. I find that it gives a lot of auteur creators a chance to showcase their work in a way that isn't available in the West, but it can be a double edged sword. Even if you find a show that might be good, sometimes the writer's/animator's fetishes slip in there and it can just ruin the whole thing because moids can't resist keeping it out. I watch a lot less anime now that I'm an adult, partially because I'm busy with general real life stuff and now my radar detects moid fuckery in fiction a lot better than it used to and if a show sets it off I usually don't bother. In fact, a lot of anime with a male protagonist sets it off these days.

Maybe part of the reason is down to the rough transition from teenage years to adulthood. You hear quite often about how the average Japanese worker is overworked and about the pressures of being just a normal person and providing for a family (if they even have one). These shows can offer a form of escapism and regression. Maybe it's a focus on youthfulness, or living vicariously through a show about high schoolers because you yourself never had a high school sweetheart, damn it! It's hard to say for sure, but I'll stop here because I don't want to shit up the thread too much further. You might be able to tell that I enjoy talking about anime and that is a great shame of mine. It's a genre just like any other that has its gems, but my god do you have to sift through some slop and what a surprise, most of that slop is moidslop.

The political leanings of woman don’t change in a vacuum. For example, most single women support the right to have an abortion which is a natural contingency in today’s climate of hookup culture.

Single men are usually pro-life, pro-casual sex, and favor abandoning the children they have out of wedlock. The expectation here is that conservative-leaning women will assume all the risk of an unwanted pregnancy with a person who is statistically going to bolt the second she misses her period. This double-standard pushes women left.

There’s a reason it evens out more for married women.
