Official Kiwifarms Uplifting Each Other Thread - Support group for women

We all know what "horse riding" refers to here lol. You slay dat BBC, girl!

Also sewing is a generic uninteresting foid hobby so you've only just further proved my point here.

On a slight tangent- but why are moids so angry about women riding horses? Many years ago a moid tried to convince me that women like this sport because the horse's neck is phallic. That's some gay shit because not once have I given any thought to the shape of my horse's neck.
Fucking called it. Go be a fag somewhere else.
i have some grogeous 1940's digital patterns i've been meaning to try! if you have any recommendations, i'd love to have a look <3
Nice, would you mind sharing it? I'm more into late victorian and edwardian stuff, but 40s were so insanely classy <3
Sewing and DIY are also some of mine. I'm a digital artist who occasionally makes money off of it, and I am very passionate about music. I have a CD collection, I can play the piano, and I'm working on learning bass. :)
What kind of DIY are we talking about? I'm always in awe at how skilled women are in the DIY scene and how creative they are <3 good for you to monetize your skills! And it's so nice for you to play bass, I play a bit too- it's more difficult than it looks but sounds just so lovely when you do it right

ofc, happy to! etsy is a goldmine for your period of historical patterns. i love victorian clothing, but my skills aren't that good yet, so i've been working with simpler patterns for now to build up my skills. i'll see if i can pm it your way! <3

It's nothing high-brow, but I like to customize bags and jackets with patches, rivets etc :)
- vintage makeup
- vintage fashion circa 1890-1960
- video gaming
Vintage makeup and fashion are so interesting to me! Do you recommend any resources to learn more? I'm especially interested in the art of corseting
And what are your favorite video games?

I wish I knew how to sew. I sadly don't have the patience for it... but I think it would be good for me to actually learn and sit and make cute stuff for my baby.
Yes!! Learn!!! Once you get into it, the tedium becomes so relaxing and it's almost therapeutic. From personal experience, you can get lost in a project for hours. It's wonderful.

i wouldn't be the one to talk to regarding corsetry; however i can send you some resources on vintage makeup! i really love 1930's makeup as i think its so gorgeous. i love golden era of hollywood esque makeup, so i tend to wear those sort of looks makeup wise when i can be arsed to wear any.

some of my favourites makeup wise from magazines, books, etc,, (bear in mind, from 30's/40's, or otherwise misc and really interesting)

youtube also has some excellent old video tutorials that young women were shown - archival footage - but i believe those are 50's era, or later 40's. have a look! <3

my favourite games presently are stardew valley, doom 2016, wolfenstein the new colossus, hogwarts legacy, and batman: arkham asylum

also - god bless archive dot org for real.
:)

How straining is it on the eyes in your opinion? I have always avoided it because I figured that my already tense eye muscles would crumble.

not very, provided you do it in adequate lighting. if you have easily strained eyes (and are getting into sewing for the first time anyway) i would recommend you use a thread colour easily visible compared to your fabric colour, so you can see where your stitches are easier. <3

Thank you! These are wonderful <3

Admittedly I could never get into Stardew, but in that vein I love the Sims franchise.
The Arkham games are some of my favorite I've ever played and DOOM is great too. In terms of Id games, Quake is my favorite.

i've been putting off playing sims4 again only because i don't want to have to do the week long slog of redownloading all my mods to make the game less boring :/ i have over 100 hours in game, but i genuinely just love making the characters and building them pretty houses lol

I have the same issue! Having to reinstall and update mods every time there's a patch is one of those things I can rarely bring myself to do. So, it's been a few months since I've played. LOL. Still, that hasn't kept me from accumulating ~1000 hours in TS4 over the span of a few years.

I swear I'm not a total basement dweller.

Girl, there's no need to be ashamed...

Because there's an urban legend that the movement of the horse gives women orgasms. I used to ride and find this claim preposterous.
