Official Space Station 13 Server

So I had my favorite session last night.

I went paramedic as I am expanding my job roster. We had no doctors so I was really trying to learn how to run before walking. Not surgeries, just having to do treatments rather than just transporting. Head of Security was severely irradiated, helped with meds but not enough and he had me euthanize him with his energy pistol. Security didn't seem to mind, he did tell the AI it was ok.

However, I discovered that had bigger problems that helped me not get investigated. A laughter demon was loose in the station. He cornered me after taking a corpse to the morgue and I was quickly slain and eaten.

I followed along closely after though watching the guy terrorize the station. He seemed pretty good at it and was having a good time.

Then I got a pop-up that would change my session. Would I like to be a CentCom janitor. I think 'sure.' I've learned how important blood is and no one ever gets rezed in my experience.

What I got was a powered armored special forces janitor with an endless cleaning gun.

I then hada blast running throughout the base cleaning EVERYTHING while the security forces dealt with the demon.

Then we went back to CentCom and set up and ambush for after the round to cleanse all the surviving employees in the emergency shuttle for being tainted by the laughter demon.
Oh fuck, I remember seeing an ERT Jannie running with the Deathsquad and wondered why you were called in. Even with everyone screaming about cleaning bloodstains, for some reason, it slipped my mind that a Jannie would be most effective at doing exactly that.

Hell of a round.

However, some of the next level complexity stuff I'm hesitant in. I've dabbled in plant mutation. I'd love to make pod people plants to help rez the slain. As well as science, cargo or mining.
Science is about the only thing with layers of complexity that you mentioned. Cargo just moves freight and makes money for guns and pizza parties. Mining just collects ore from Lavaland for sweet miner points and Cargonia profit, but has the added benefit of having a little more of an involved PvE element to it what with hunting down and fighting the various fauna and megafauna on Lavaland. Megafauna basically end up being glorified, high lethality boss fights which are incredibly difficult to master, but usually provide some very nice rewards for success.

I've been unable to find an answer on google on an issue I am having: Whenever a round ends I am not automatically reconnected and I have to manually close the Kiwistation browser and reconnect, this had lead to me missing rounds a couple times now.

I tried changing my firewall settings to allow the prog through but it didn't seem to work.

It's a /tg/ specific issue I am very sure. It didn't happen before the trannies started ruining everything.

I am new too, but one thing that was a fun side project was to hack the MULE as a Cargo Techie, you might have order (or steal) some stuff for it. Normally you cannot ride it, but you can hack it to make it a pimpwagon almost as glorious as the Janniecart.

Played my first surviving round today, as Geneticist this time, and had a lot of fun. Sorry to the other geneticist who I blew up by injecting him with something. I didn’t realize that too many mutations could do that. Don’t worry though, I cleaned it up. I learned he janitor role already.

I managed to make a Chameleon mutation and give it to myself, which definitely helped me a couple times when trouble broke out. I also injected the mime with a Chav mutation, but it didn’t do much,

Does anyone know how to use the telepathy once it’s injected? Is it a special channel or what?

After all the fun stuff I found doing genetics, I’m close to wanting to try an antag role, but I’m not quite sure I’m quick enough at doing stuff, yet.

Even dictators give one choice.

Every now and again my character will just move in a direction and not stop until they hit something. Also sometimes either the X or Y axis stop responding. I have to restart the game, I think it's lag related.

I played out my first round as cargo as pretend QM (he killed him self because he got so pissed off at the clown, so i stole his ID card).

It was extremely comfy until i went AFK to talk to my wife and came back covered in mutagen. Apparently the rest of the station was pretty fucked so we got very few orders lol.

I learned 2 things in virology:

1. Nerf cough and sneeze before you do anything else.

2. A mixture of plasma, monkey blood, human blood, virus food, mutagen and mutagenic agar will cause "spontaneous combustion" as a symptom. I don't have the exact formula down yet.

Well now we know who did it. Lynch viro.

Anyway, each ingredient confers a random symptom of the level indicated in the wiki. It's not a recipe so much as it is luck.

Telepathy is a special way to whisper someone, but it should bring up an icon on the top left of the screen too unless I'm remembering wrong. And Chav makes you talk like a Chav. Depending on how retarded the clown was you might not have been able to tell the difference.

Is this visible from the old ass BYOND launcher or do I need to do something special to find/join the server?

You need to directly connect to the server using the link in the OP. Opening it in your browser should also let byond open it like a magnet link, but I can never get that to work right myself.

If you lag during an input the input will persist, I think. I just quickly spam WASD to make it stop.

Was me and also a learning experience. Was injecting myself with any and all mutations to try everything out.

Noticed with some mutations like that I’ve shared shooting one or telepathy that it gives you a button a the top of the screen to click to use. Seems to be a range on telepathy tho to let you directly message someone.

What's the protip on dragging stuff? Janny is less fun when you constantly have to reengage drag any time you go from push to pull.

Is there a way to report players? Last game, a random staff assistant spent the entire round smashing windows and killing people at random. That's understandable if you're an antagonist, but he wasn't one. And there's nothing worse than being halfway through figuring out what the plant stats actually mean, only to find you've had all your plants smashed, and your body murdered, then spaced.

On an unrelated note, if anyone can explain to me how instability works, I would much appreciate it. Trying to raise the stat on my plants seems to only decrease it, oddly enough.
