Does anyone own Socofy shoes? I've seen at least two other "brands" which are the exact same style and colors but under a different name. They're quite expensive so I've held off on buying the perfect purple hippie garbage ankle boots.

I'm also trying to figure out what the fuck I can wear for a nice wedding shoe. Mr. Polexia is only about three inches taller than me and I don't want to be taller than him in photos. All the nice wedding shoes I see seem too high. I want a little heel for my posture, plus I hate the look of ballet flats, and even though I'm a dirty hippie I don't want to do those "barefoot sandals" (aka $50 for three bits of beaded string).

It’s hard to give suggestions without seeing the dress, but a kitten heel might be nice. It’s only about a half an inch but you can find dressier styles and casual styles.

I haven't got the dress yet, it'll be a mostly lace fit and flare though. Essense of Australia is a low cost designer I really like, Lillian West also has a few cute ones.

Shoes, eh. I got a pair for work, a pair for walks and hikes, a couple of pair of sandals and a pair of rubber flipflops in which to hit the local river come summer.

Get to a certain point and it ain't the shoes that matter, it's the orthotics. I wish I had known this when I was young.

I have had a pair of Ecco beatle boots in storage for over a decade now. Does that make me decadent?

I adore my Docs, but I struggle to style them in ways that don't make me look a gigantic dyke. Second verse, same as the first with my Birkenstocks. I love cute shoes, but as soon as I step into anything approaching impractical, I just feel uncomfortable. Probably should just give up and buy a Subaru.

You just have to own it. Slip your birks over wool socks, grab a craft tea or coffee beverage and go live your best life as a lesbian/dad/hippy

So excited for these, they come out in May. I had the original white/red colourway but never owned the black ones. Lol showing my age here.

Okay, I know Louboutins are basic rich bitch shoes, but I still want them so...does anyone here own a pair? Regret buying them? Love them? And as an aside: should I risk buying them second hand or should I just put aside enough for a brand new pair?

You could try Poshmark or Depop if you want second hand, some things are sold new with tags but for a much lower price since they're out of season or whatever. I picked up a retired VS bustier new with tag for $20 on Poshmark.

I've bought other things from Mercari/Depop/Poshmark (not to sound like an even more basic bitch but 50% of my Alex and Ani collection was from Mecari), I'm just worried about shoes. I've heard both glowing reviews and horror stories from my friends getting some real gross shit from poshmark. I'll find a way to disinfect them because the going price on mecari is $200-$400, and that sounds more realistic for me than $600+ for a new pair.

Loubs are incredibly uncomfortable. They have 0 padding and are designed for looking pretty not walking. I’d go secondhand off theRealReal or something.

Sneakersnstuff/SNS are having a pretty good sale atm, they have things like Adidas Tubular Doom for about 30$, Adidas Boost NMD R2 for about 40, saw heaps of other brands with a good discount too.
Oh they have a few pairs of heavily discounted Y3 (Adidas x Yohji Yamamoto).

END always have great discounts and sales too. I've linked to the sneakers but they have a stack of other stuff, just like SNS.

I grabbed my partner a pair of these, I didn't realise she had no Nike Reacts. She's on her feet a lot working with clients and some of that may involve taking them to the gym or walking/exercise, so I'm keen to see how she compares react to boost :)
Nike React Element 55.

Sneaker wise, if anyone is looking for good running shoes, or lifestyle shoes for that matter then have a look at stuff like the Nike Flyknit Epic React 1.
The new model recently came out and to be honest there isn't any reason to buy the new ones, the old ones are all on sale at most places now, and can be picked up for as little as a third of the retail price, I think this also applies to the odessy and legend react as well. I've seen them for super cheap recently and they're all solid running shoes. I have found that Adidas boost compresses after a while so they lose their squishy pillow feeling, makes them firmer. I have some older Puma NRGY which is similar to boost but firmer out of the box, and that's how boost feels after it compresses. Haven't tried their HYBRID yet, it's a mix of the NRGY pellets and another foam they use called IGNITE, but I suspect i will like it as I love ignite, has heaps of bounce, but doesn't have the stability issues that boost and to a lesser extent react have.

Hahaha sorry for the rant, I get a bit autistic about shoes

Tbh one of my favorite things to wear with my basic jeans is a pair of old style saddle shoes. I have oddly shaped feet so while they're snug, they're not wildly uncomfortable.

Save for them. There are a ton of fakes out there. The only place I’d trust is real real but at that point, you may as well get real ones. RR is going to have scratches, red worn off, etc.

I’ve worn them but don’t own them. They aren’t right for me but are oh so cute!!

Start with a color and style you’ll have forever. Beige or black pigelle maybe , pumps never go out of style. If you end up affording more, then you can have some you use less. . As pretty as the crystals and feathers, etc are, you won’t get as much use but I don’t know your lifestyle. A black pump can be worn with anything and you’ll find your money spent per use is reasonable.

They are small and narrow Go a size up. Get them from a place you can easily exchange if they don’t fit, like Nordstrom or Neiman. Best if you can try on in person.

I can’t wear LBs sadly as I have a bunion, and they are made for perfect feet. I buy Gucci and others but still want LB pumps. Imo, everybody looks cute flashing that red bottom. Go for it.

Don’t let people tell you it’s crivolous. Every one of those people do frivolous things too.

My girlfriend got me my jordan 4s, had to do bloody resale price, she paid about $435 AUD :/ but as she said, I've wanted another pair for 28 years so I'm stoked. Haven't taken them off. Jesus they're uncomfortable compared to shoes that aren't 30 years old lol

Personally, a pair of flat bottom sneakers or ballet flats are my favorite shoes to wear, but I love, love, LOVE super high heels. Even though I literally have 0 sense of balance, for whatever reason when I wear super tall heels I walk a lot more gracefully (possibly because I'm more careful where I step) and it's bonus points if they make a satisfying clack noise on tile/wood floors. And it increases my height which makes me feel good; I'm 5'2, and some days I just wanna be the same height as everyone else (not that there aren't plenty of people who are 5'2 or shorter). However, I never have a good reason to wear super high heels anymore, I don't go out very often and I graduated a few months ago and it just isn't classy to go to church wearing 4 inch+ heels.
