Alright, read the chapter. Honestly, the one thing that interests me is Loki. He says he’s “the sun god who will end the world.” So either he’s full of shit, or it’s a matter of “Nika, but EVIL.” Just Blackbeard is “Luffy, but EVIL”, and I assume Imu is “Joy Boy, but EVIL”.

I gotta wonder where this conversation goes, because I can easily see this being a matter of everyone telling Luffy that Loki is bad news, only for Luffy to disagree since he had a pleasant conversation with the guy chained to a tree.

I have to believe one of these days, Luffy will be called out for his insane naïveté, that or a cunning and/or smart villain will use Luffy’s naïveté against him. Or both.

As for the “X” on the arm, I’m gonna wait until the SHs reunite because Luffy will probably say something really simple, and all the YouTube videos with their grandiose, detailed thumbnails going “WHAT DOES IT MEAN?” Will be rendered moot.

I’m not sure if that’ll happen. I think Vivi meeting SHs is endgame material. If anything, I’d say she’d come across one of Luffy’s allies. Or Shanks, who thinks it’s now time to meet Luffy again.

Remember that Vivi is coming back into the story proper and will inevitably reunite with the Straw Hats.

I don't know if Luffy fully intended it or what since the mark is missing after Alabasta, but the Devil Fruit might've read the room and realized a message needed to get out to someone Luffy trusts. Vivi will read the newspaper and know it's a crock of shit especially once she sees the X and becomes more determined to meet back up with Luffy. It's literally 3D2Y but for Vivi. Anyone reading too deeply into this needs to take a breather.

Bonney just god Sun God powers, and I think the thing is Road and Loki just call themselves “Sun god”. I have to assume the setup is that Luffy goes Gear 5 and the others are outed as fakes. Meanwhile, Luffy still won’t have a clue.

Honestly, that x mark thing really needs to be explained by Oda pronto, because now it seems like it’s there just to get people asking why it’s there for the next few weeks. It seems gratuitous right now. I just hope that it’s not one of those things where it’s “Nope, you only learn about this when Luffy comes across this information.”

As for Vivi, I do think that she’d recognize the x mark and her only questions would be how and why Luffy looks like that since all she knows is base form Luffy. As I said before, Vivi meeting the SHs again seems like pure endgame material to build up towards. We’re more likely to see Vivi meet somebody Luffy knows or crossed paths with and Vivi tells that individual about how she’s being chased after by the government.

Also with Loki, Fenrir in some myths EATS THE SUN. Loki’s DF is likely a mythical Zoan. Loki was the father of Fenrir. I think we have poor translation at the end and maybe Loki wants to kill Mother Caramel’s fake Sun God and that’s why he had interest in Big Mom.

It reads to me as a message from Vivi to the Strawhats stating "I'm alive and here is where I am." I'm pretty sure that this is a thing that shouldn't be read into for a deeper meaning.

I’m probably overthinking it. I guess my issue is that it seems like we’re getting closer to the end and all the questions being answered (even if it’s in a very specific way at a very specific time), so question raisers like this just give me a sense of “oh my god, can we just get this over with, Oda? I’m not in the mood for games or questions about the lore.” (Even though I have my own ideas about how things will go down, but that’s more of “placeholder to keep me from going insane thinking about it too much”.

As for “reading into for a deeper meaning”, we have YouTubers for that. And Artur from Library of O’Hara. And maybe the folks at r/onepiece.

That’s my assumption too. And since Robin saw the mark, she’s probably gonna ask the East Blue SHs about it, and then we may get some chapters to show what Vivi is up to.

The problem is that I don't think that is the same X..I don't recall seeing those on anyone post Alabasta arc, at least I did a quick perusal of Luffy vs Kaido and I didn't see the X on his arm in any panel

Robin stowed away on the Going Merry and revealed herself just after the iconic scene where the Strawhats raised their fists in the air to display those X marks. It's not unreasonable to think that she might have seen it on the arm of one of the Strawhats just after or even spied on that moment using her Devil Fruit.

I'm pretty certain they were done in ink in that arc so would have been removed years ago. As people pointed out upthread Vivi is with Morgans so has likely snuck this in the image used to make the papers. No clue how one does photo editing in One Piece, perhaps you threaten the snail that prints the papers.

On the topic ofLoki is he chained to the tree? I thought at first he also had one eye covered but it's both, however if he's been bound to the tree there might be some Odin associations to come too.
