Like what are the 2 DFs that Rocks needed and why one of them had to be eaten by Harald for the true power of the DF to be unlocked
Rocks said one of them was the shadow fruit, so Harald would be able to command the supposed army of ancient giant corpses that were frozen. My guess is the Ice fruit is the other one he needed, to unearth the giants to start with. Maybe it's a different fruit, the Lava fruit, or there's some fruit that can take advantage of some ancient weapon waiting to be unearthed. Hell, maybe it's the Dark fruit he needed, maybe that's why Teach was looking for it for so long. Darkness and shadows, they go hand in hand.

You should be able to do the same with the soul fruit though, in regards to reanimating the frozen giants. I think the real question is why did it require Harald?

They go over this in chapter 1156. Rocks wants Harald to eat a certain fruit so its full potential is unlocked, which may or may not be the Shadow fruit, but he also wants Harald so the frozen giants would listen to Harald. I believe the idea is that even with the ability to resurrect the giants, they would not have any allegiance to Rocks. However, they would yield to the authority of the king of Elbaph. I don't know what the reasoning Rocks's crew has for that, but that's what they believed at the time. Also, I wasn't aware the Soul fruit could reanimate corpses like the Shadow fruit. I thought it could just bring inanimate objects to life. Maybe Rocks wanted Brook's fruit, maybe it has some special bullshit powers we don't know about.

I'd bet money that grave they're paying homage to in the cover story is Gecko Moria's.

The shadow fruit DOESN'T RESURRECT ANYONE. It just stuffs someone else's shadow into a corpse.

Oars probably did not act literally identically to luffy when he was alive.

Ryuma definitely didn't do the "Yohohoho" stuff.

So on so forth, the Gallilei would not be resurrected, it would be different people in those giant bodies, without whatever skills actually made those particular giants so important.

I'm legitimately worried we get the answer to this in an SBS like we did Kid's story. I also have this worry with Crocodile's story.
There's a theory floating around that Moria might join the Cross Guild, based on how early version of that poster had Perona in it.

I consider that a given. Perona knows Mihawk and has a good relationship with him and it's not like they have anywhere else to go. Moria also will be more interested in vengeance for Absalom and himself than anything, so any group that might clash with Teach is AOK in his book.

What's the difference between an inanimate object and a corpse though? Also why would they listen to Harald, they wouldn't recognize him and going off Oars' appearance Harald doesn't look much like an ancient giant.

The Moria reveal was surprising and I'm not sure if this means he's a blood relative or if it's more of an honorary member of the clan. He certainly doesn't look like Oden. My initial assumption was that Moria went and fought Kaido because he wanted to be pirate king and Kaido was basically the closest at the time to the title. I'm really curious about prime Moria now. Now combine what we've learned with Rocks' obsession with reviving the ancient giants and Moria's trying to revive Oars they seem very similar and makes me think the Shadow fruit isn't the fruit Rocks wanted, as Moria was trying to simulate what Rocks wanted with the shadow fruit and Hogback's science. So I'm sticking with it being the soul fruit for now. Really like this reveal, feels so out of left field at first but falls into place so nicely.

As far as OP is concerned, it's the difference between whether or not the Soul fruit's powers will work on it. If they didn't need a different fruit to bring the corpses back to life, Rocks and his gang wouldn't have been on the lookout for it.
Also why would they listen to Harald
I don't know, but Rocks seemed to believe he needs Harald for them to listen. Perhaps he knows somwthing we don't.

They would recognize him as an ancient giant, and Oars & his son are a particularly noteworthy case like how Big Mom is just an abnormally large human.

That's reasonable. I don't know why I thought Rocks specifically mentioned the Shadow fruit, I guess I was going off the easiest assumption that the fruit we know of that brings corpses to life would be the fruit he's looking for. Maybe Brook's fruit can do some crazy shit with bringing people back from the dead once it awakens.

I just wanna know when Gill Bastar is gonna get his moment to shine in the flashback. Unless I missed him off in some corner somewhere, he hasn't shown up at all in this particular flashback. He's still lacking a proper title box. I'm just wondering if he's a mutant or part of some sorta four-armed tribe we've yet to see anywhere else, something like that would totally be in his title box.

I was thinking of Logia Awakenings and came up with this: By accident, Ace became an Awakened Logia in the anime. There was an anime original moment where he lit Sanji's cigarette from afar back in Alabasta. That is what a Mera Mera Awakening should be like: the ability to set things on fire with your mind. I cannot believe that I just noticed that!

He also made Drum Island's weather warmer and stopped it from snowing.
