if this is true blackbeards interest in getting the dark fruit makes even more sense. if imu is darkness then not only would blackbeard be immune to his powers thanks to the dark dark fruits ability to nullify devil fruit abilities. he might also be able to manipulate imu himself.

The comedy option is that Imu possesses Usopp because he claims to be the king of the Syrup Kingdom and then Luffy one-shots him because Usopp is so fucking weak and worthless.
and thats the problem. all that work making them start to become useful in wano and it feels like they are right back down to being useless. but then again i guess that is usually how it works. once the secret to getting past their immortality is revealed things should hopefully get better.
I’ve always thought the formula was that once the main villain is identified, we go from SHs taking out the minions, and we just keep going up the chain until we get to Luffy taking out the main villain because it’ll increase his reputation (Yonko status, new powers/gear, bounty increase, Nika reveal, etc). And it’s been like that since Arlong Park.
I just want Imu, preferably after unmasking and revealing herself to be Lily, who turned evil after growing disillusioned towards the idea of freedom, to throw into Luffy's face A. His habit of restoring monarchies everywhere he goes B. That absolute freedom in its purest form means bad people can do horrible beyond the pale things and C. That being King of the pirates is akin to being king of the rapists and not something one should thrive towards being.
