Since I know at least one of you reads this thread here is my advice to you Julian and Ding Dong you have basically three opitions:
1. Grow a thicker skin and stop obsessing about the dream daddy shit from 7 years ago. Make something and stop crying.
2. Completely Leave the internet for your own mental health and go work a slave wage job and be miserable
3. Continue to obsess over shit no one cares about from nearly a decade ago and be miserable while collecting 5k+ a month and never creating anything

There's got to be a limit on self deprecation, otherwise it just comes off as you wanting to be a martyr.

A normal job would help DingDong a lot. Just a part time thing at a grocery store or something. Being around regular people for a few hours a week can only help him at this point. Julian still does art commissions, I assume, but DingDong only plays video games and makes game codes that he gives up on. It really isn't good for your mental state to just spin your wheels with no goals met.

I don't really know about miserable, but I know you're exaggerating. Normal work comes with predictability and stability, and allows you to not worry about losing patrons - and so, not worry about having to stream this many times this month or so-on, so-forth.

It does definitely make it harder to find the time to create, but honestly the added financial stability may be a mental buoy that really cultivates more productivity. Yoshihiro Tatsumi's "A Drifting Life" is a fun glimpse into just how critical that motivation - and a lifestyle that doesn't stymie it - can be to finding fulfillment. While there are certainly devs who can simply devote themselves to endless programming, I think most creatives need a certain vitae in order to keep going, and if one is locked into a lifestyle that is draining (even if the imposition is purely from within), it might just require rejigging.

That, anyways, is my contribution to the every-other-page armchair psychologizing.

They should channel this retardation and autism into finishing their games. If they spent the same amount of energy and enthusiasm shooting themselves on foot hy shitting on their meal tickets over to their actual careers, maybe they'd be known for more than "OneyPlays guys."

Just a food for thought.

Ya know, I really despise that so many people are still supporting DD&J financially despite them offering nothing in return but getting constantly insulted by the people who's lazy lifestyle they support. They pretty much are YandereDev at this point, it's just throwing your money into a disgusting black hole. The irony is if DD&J stopped getting payed a livable amount for doing nothing and had to actually work to support themselves they would probably be way better off. Having to leave their house to work would keep them off the internet and force them to interact with people and there would be no downside to development productivity because they ain't doing jack shit in either scenario.

It's crazy how likeable and charming they where back in the day, now they are just bitter husks who really don't have redeeming qualities to me anymore.

I asked something similar before but can someone explain to me what Julian means with his account being untouched? Is it just stuff like comments on his posts, reposting of his content and dms? If so that really reminds me of someone going into an open voice channel and complaining that other people are joining because "he wants to be alone".

Literally impossible for the vast majority of artsy/creative types. These types of people have a genuine disdain, if not outright hatred, for honest blue collar work. They see themselves as better than that. Even the sleepycabin boys to an extent. These are people who've maybe worked one or two normal jobs in their entire lives. Just go back and look at the contempt Zach and Stamper have for construction workers back on sleepycast. These are people who unironically think they've got it harder working in climate controlled offices drawing cartoons than the dudes laying pavement in 100+ degree weather or linemen making sure you still have electricity despite the fact it's pissing rain, sleet and snow and could die at any moment over the smallest mistake.

I've listened to Sleepycast multiple times over and never got the impression they looked down on or hated blue collar workers. They mostly just talked about how miserable they were doing them because what they were passionate about was creative work. Pretty sure they also acknowledge they are lucky getting to do their dream jobs too.

Maybe
it was the editing
I remember the times julian said something so depressing or left field that it even shocked chris, like I think it was pokemon when he blurted out that people didn't care about him or something and chris and ding dong went "JULIAN OH MY GOD"
I'm sure there's a lot of that cut out

I'll try to find the exact episode and edit it in(might have been the animals, animation and other A words episode, but I'll check to be sure since I'm not just making this shit up), but Stamp and Zach went on a tangent about how easy construction workers have it compared to the boys after Zach did some "research". Which amounted to crying about working upwards of 60 hours a week while I know from experience the average construction worker is pulling 70-80+ hours in much harder conditions doing much more strenuous and dangerous work. Culminating in them mostly bitching about not getting vacation time, ignoring the fact that obviously independent youtube cartoonists wouldn't get those kind of benefits but how it's somehow an example of how much harder they have it as animators compared to back breaking labor

And the episode you linked is about Stamper talking about working a call center(honest work, fair enough) and Jeff talking about half assed applying for a door to door salesman job he didn't even take anyway. And I believe Zach whines about working at Arby's while in highschool(so part time) and Chris whinging abiut working in his daddy's store and gamestop(also whole in highschool, so part time at most).

Offtopic for the thread but I really think there should be something like rehab for people with depression. That disorder fucks with your mind about as much as addiction and makes you have similarly destructive/abusive behaviors to other people. It shouldn't be romanticized or normalized to say things like "no one cares about me/no one would care if I died" to people who you know love you/care about you. It's abusive!

Anyway the Tomodachi Life eps are good so far.

Has anyone ever posted this to the thread?

Could anyone here be so kind as to give me the deep lore of DingDong and Julian (all I know about them is that they're homosexuals who are partners with each other)?

I really like these guys. I've watched several OneyPlay's videos with them, and I especially like DingDong's contributions to the hilarity that always ensues.
Like when Chris makes a Holocaust-joke in one of the Bloodborne-videos.
"Get back in the oven, you pizza!", and DingDong just goes "Chris... :-)... :-O".

DingDong manages to play the straight man and one who's simultaneously ready to engage in silly shenanigans. Yet in this thread, I read that he's a crybaby who's distanced himself from Oney completely? That's sounds like a real shame.

Is this true, and if so, why is this?

Been loving their Tomodaci Life videos so far, if they stick with it (:optimistic:) it might be better than Vinny's.

There are lkely posters that can give a better summary than me but essentially Ding Dong and Julian cannot handle fame despite still clinging on having some kind of presence on the internet. In the past Julian used to vent on his tumblr blog about how he hated being turned into a mascot and people treating him as a silly Youtube man when he has big woe is me problems and wants to be taken seriously (when he also draws and consumes a lot of furry shit)
Ding Dong meanwhile cannot move on from any point of negativity to an absurd degree. I find him much harder to understand than Julian who is just kinda whiney and petty.

Them asking for QR codes in the new episode has me hopeful they'll continue with it.

Does anyone have a video where we actually see Zach give off one of his Goblin calls? I've been curious to see what he looks like as he makes those ungodly sounds.
