Except when you realize that:
- There are children and teenagers within FLOSS communities, including under 13s.
- Some of them are active contributors and have connections with the company and/or distribution developers, as is the case with Rudra.
- Both federal and state laws in the U.S. impose restrictions on sex offenders that companies and organizations employing them must adhere to. This includes prohibiting them from directly working with children, and these restrictions are stricter for sexual predators.
Canonical completely mishandled this situation. Ideally, they should be sued for gross negligence for putting the youngest members of their community and team at risk. The same could very well apply to those in charge of Debian and GNOME. You cannot simply hire an individual like this, much less place them in a position where they could easily abuse their power to reoffend. If Bicha's public behavior with XLibre was so egregious, it's not unreasonable to think that he might be committing far worse acts in private, especially with an entire network of accomplices protecting him.
