I loved BeOS 5 back in the day. Ran on most Pentium III hardware. The biggest factor is always going to be hardware support. You need to have a good enough community that some people just constantly port over Linux drivers just for fun.

Doesn't mean they're not intentionally pushing bad packages. Still, the AUR has a way for the official maintainers to request control over their own package. Should just takes some e-mails/forum posts, right?

That does not scale.
Why should the upstream maintainer have to do this? There are hundreds of different distro repos.

If the arch faggots can not maintain the shit that they provide to their users then they should not offer it in the first place.
And no "I don't have time to maintain it because dillating takes up too much time" is not a valid excuse.

I mean, it's AUR, it's nothing more than a glorified git repo where some guy just pushes his PKGBUILDs.
 
I'm currently working on my own Debian-based distro with its own DE.
The DE is basically just a Windows 7-style panel and start menu that I wrote using QtQuick, though it does use Openbox as its window manager for now until I write my own.
I'll post a screenshot soon.

Would anyone be interested in checking it out and leaving some feedback if I release the ISO?

My distro was built because I got tired of people in this specific thread only complaining instead of making their own SneedOS.
It might also be seen by some as "anti-woke" or pro-meritocracy so I think it fits. Who knows, maybe the usual suspects will sperg out.

I have been lurking for a while now and even threw in some Shekels to Jewsh's GiveSendGo but if you're really this paranoid about compiling software or spinning up a quick VM for a open source distro then fine. I am not owed your time.

Originally I wanted to steer away from politics to not look like another deranged open source dev who is unable to separate his project and his personal or professional life but decided to instead embrace it fully.
