Diseased Open Source Software Community - it's about ethics in Code of Conducts

Has anyone been keeping an eye on the Matrix/Telegram chat for Xlibre? Aparrently there is drama forming over the AUR repository where somebody took lover the xlibre-server name and is pushign out bad versions, and is being very uncommunicative and accusing people raising concerns of being trolls and harassers.
Lol, that sounds like what some autist tranny at Arch/AUR would do.
Because "we must poison it to prevent the genocide" or something.

Do you have links? It sounds like something entertaining to keep an eye on.

I don't know how to scrape from telegram but its on the telegram chat under Distribution Discussion, it's the most recent topic. I admit I'm having a hard time keeping track of the details as it doesn't seem to be discussed in any organized format https://t.me/x11dev

I find that utterly impossible to believe. Open Sores devs and supporters I have encountered in my life have been the most insufferable idiots on earth, second only to the "Trans Rights" crowd. They parrot total bullshit talking points, spew idiotic slogans and deny reality when it conflicts with what their cult leaders have declared, and call everyone else sheep for wanting reliable, properly-supported software and products.
Makes me think of some of the people on the FreeSoftwareExtremist fediverse instance.

As a wildcard, Haiku could potentially become a serious contender in the market, although that's a long shot.
I loved BeOS 5 back in the day. Ran on most Pentium III hardware. The biggest factor is always going to be hardware support. You need to have a good enough community that some people just constantly port over Linux drivers just for fun.

It wasn't taken over, it wasn't ever official to begin with. Quit being such a helpless fag.
Doesn't mean they're not intentionally pushing bad packages. Still, the AUR has a way for the official maintainers to request control over their own package. Should just takes some e-mails/forum posts, right?

That does not scale.
Why should the upstream maintainer have to do this? There are hundreds of different distro repos.

If the arch faggots can not maintain the shit that they provide to their users then they should not offer it in the first place.
And no "I don't have time to maintain it because dillating takes up too much time" is not a valid excuse.

I'm currently working on my own Debian-based distro with its own DE.
The DE is basically just a Windows 7-style panel and start menu that I wrote using QtQuick, though it does use Openbox as its window manager for now until I write my own.
I'll post a screenshot soon.

Would anyone be interested in checking it out and leaving some feedback if I release the ISO?

You'd better provide the code, because this glows.

This also just isn't the right thread for it either. The whole point of this thread is to document specifically insane retards or "insane retard things" within Open Sores.

My distro was built because I got tired of people in this specific thread only complaining instead of making their own SneedOS.
It might also be seen by some as "anti-woke" or pro-meritocracy so I think it fits. Who knows, maybe the usual suspects will sperg out.

Linux that looks and acts like Windows is like a Reese cup made from feces and filled with pus.

Yes strange guy that just started posting now, I will definitively run your code on my system!

Dude you might even mean well but that's not how to go about it.
I have been lurking for a while now and even threw in some Shekels to Jewsh's GiveSendGo but if you're really this paranoid about compiling software or spinning up a quick VM for a open source distro then fine. I am not owed your time.

This forum literally has rules about not positing personal information. Paranoia is baked in here.

Plus if I was a tranny that wanted to trick people into installing a malware os that lets me scrape their local network for devices to hack and dox, I'd sound a lot like this.

Will give it a try when I'm home. Thanks for sharing.

This perspective aligns with Hoppean principles, which emphasize natural property rights and voluntary exchange while criticizing state-granted monopolies and privileges.
lolbert OS, ahaha. At least you've got values.

You're welcome. Oh and make sure to run Debian in docker to have the proper version of either libstd++ or libc I dont exactly remember which one of the two.

Haha, yup. And i'm not here just for the free helicopter rides.

Originally I wanted to steer away from politics to not look like another deranged open source dev who is unable to separate his project and his personal or professional life but decided to instead embrace it fully.
