exactly. While I am confident that the powers that be won't let him get hurt, I'm astonished that Jace is being so callous as to refuse to get Eli home; that and how stupid Eli is to believe Jace when Jace tells him he'd blackmail Eli to keep him away from the US Embassy.

Yup. Normally, the fact that Jace said in the last Fact/QA Zone that he'd refuse to answer any questions about Eli would strike me as worrying - Jace has no fucking idea he's doing, and when I heard it first, I thought there's a chance he doesn't want to admit to the world that some serious shit has already gone down and he's trying to cover it up. But then again, Jace's not exactly the smartest guy around and the easier explanation is that they're still playing out their super spy fantasies in Israel together and everything is restricted due to strict opsec top secret communications protocols or whatever.

I think that if anything happened to Eli Jace would try to keep it a secret at first out of respect for him or because his Mom is mad at him, but Jace being Jace would eventually let what happened slip out. I also wonder if anything happens to Eli how fast Jace will turn into Stryker and reflect that his will got a man killed and how that makes him like a God.

Jace tends to get really defensive and completely lose his shit when someone used false flag facts against his soul.* His reaction to Eli stuff doesn't fit the usual pattern for Jace's coverups.

*True facts Jace doesn't want you to know.
 
I honestly think they're just communicating over DM on twitter and Eli is keeping radio silence because they realized that tweeting his every move and posting videos was a bad idea. I also think he got spooked by al gamerfood discovering where he was staying.

I already thought about this and it won't work after some discussion. Jace is essentially manipulating Eli to remain in Israel and has full power to get him a ticket home. He doesn't want him home until he finishes the fight. Which means that, throwing money at this isn't gonna fix it so much as throwing some reality at Jace.

Well, Eli's visa has to run out sometime. (I was mildly surprised the dimwitted twat even had a passport.)

nobody said the gofundme couldn't be for hiring a black man and an old Palestinian in Israel to be pretend rescued and assassinated respectively.

That's one of those things that just doesn't add up about this whole situation for me, like Eli's parents' lack of reaction to their son being missing overseas for over a month, and the fact that - unless he failed out/decided not to return/whatever - the Fall Semester at whatever college accepted Agent Double-Oh-420 will start soon.
