Didn't even liberal critics say the movie was a little too on the noise and that it wasn't going to convince anyone who disagreed with them?
Are we other going to get a based actor winning a Oscar again

That's a Disney movie as wellThe fact that "Ron's Gone Wrong" wasn't considered for Best Animated Feature (or anything, really) while 3/5ths of the nominees are a Disney film is fucking disgusting.
By proxy, apparently, but goddamn monopoly. That's a Disney movie as well
And being badly miscast. I actually think Cumberbatch is a good actor but who gets roles he doesn't suit, and that was just one of many problems with The Power of the Dog. Such Oscar catnip, but not a film worth seeing, IMO. Glad Kirsten Dunst got a nod, though.I think Dr. Strange wins best actor due to the "Historically unprecedented and glass ceiling breaking" Power of Dog which I didn't think was very good but c'est la vie.
I'd be good with Licorice Pizza and fine with Dune winning, not so much Nightmare Alley, definitely not The Power of the Dog, out of the ones I've seen. Curious about Belfast, not so much about the others. So which one do you think will won Best Picture?

Dune isn't winning and while Pizza might win it, I'd bet on Power of the Dog due to a women directing and producing it.I'd be good with Licorice Pizza and fine with Dune winning, not so much Nightmare Alley, definitely not The Power of the Dog, out of the ones I've seen. If Will wins best Actor there won't be any real support for #oscarssowhite. I doubt he should win it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.I wonder if King Richard can bear the burden of stopping another #Oscarssowhite, considering they don't give a fuck about the non-black POC. Yes, there's loads of latino and asian representation, but considering the insufferable black wokefest that was last year, I wonder if they can tolerate no longer being over-represented.
They are by the same guy. It isn't as good as The Big Short. The lack of self-awareness is staggering and it wasn't funny as a comedy. That said it's intended to be an allegory about climate change and we all know how much Hollywood cares about climate change. Which is why it stars Leo "Mr. Private Jet" DiCaprio.Edit: Also, to be fair to Don't Look Up, which I haven't seen, they thought The Big Short was a lot better than it was as well, and I believe they're both by the same guy, doing the same sort of thing. The Oscars don't often celebrate subtle, much preferring didactic, smug and obvious. One of the reasons they can be annoying is there are times when they get it right. And yes, subjective, etc. But it puts in stark contrast the number of times they go for something actively bad but it says the right thing.
The Power of the Dog for women power. Licorice Pizza possibly but those are the only two I realistically see winning given the people deciding. Parasite was the first time in awhile the actual Best Picture won and I'm pretty sure they did that by accident thinking it was an inclusive choice. So which one do you think will won Best Picture?
Essentially, Moonlight plus Green Book equals massive ego orgy for all of Hollywood. If only there was a movie about a black gay teen coming to terms with his own gayness as he drives an old white lady around the South during the Civil Rights days. That would be a dead lock cinch.
They are also trying to wine and dine nips.Surprised a Japanese movie got picked up for Best Picture. I thought the Asian Wokes hates the japs so much. Also Dune has 10 nominations but not Best Director? Shame, really, shame...
No, but director's cuts of previously released films are ineligible, because it was technically released years ago.And if some say the reason why The Snyder Cut was not include was "because it was exclusive on HBO Max", that excuse doesn't work because movies that were exclusive on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ were nominated.
Careful... that sounds very dangerously close to hate speech and wrong think! The Oscars aren't what they used to be.
Now unless you have a bunch of foreigners in a film, homos, blacks, asians, Mexicans, Trans etc., you are considered a bigot film or TV series.
I haven't watched them for a few years simply due to the heavy political leaning that has now influenced them beyond recognition.
How I wish Jerry Stiller would do a film on the Oscars like he did a film on Film Production and Hollywood (Tropic Thunder).
Why do you sound so excited about this. Also the Oscar's are having hosts again, this time not one, not two, but three hosts!!! Those three hosts being Amy Schumer,
