Is it a good sign Hollywood snubbed Emilia Pérez even after it had been shoehorned to win by seemingly every leftist publication? Must've been really bad.

I liked the oscars this year. Sure we had insufferable twats come up and say shit like slava ukraine and how they wont let hate win but they hosted with conan which made things actually pretty fun.

Reminder that the nominees for 2004 were Master & Commander, Return of the King, Seabiscuit, Mystic River and Lost in Translation. Even if they weren't your cup of tea, we could at least agree that they were all movies that people at large liked.

Actors vote for other actors, around 1300 vote each year and the vote is anonymous.

So he got nominated to hell and back but the actors simply said no this time, the instution indeed is willing but the flesh revolts

Conan has dumbfuck opinions but at least he usually knows how to leave it on the shelf and put on a good show... assuming you enjoy whatever it is that Conan O'brien does.

Nominated yes. But I guarantee he wouldn’t win. Those actresses saw that the likes of Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie missed out on a nomination this year because of virtue signaling a troon. Those ladies know it could happen to them. Closet terfs when the voting comes.

You are incredibly naive if you seriously think he "got caught" with wrongthink. The women at the Academy were simply too chicken shit to either a) not nominate him or b) rescind the nomination because they feared losing the award to a man. The press didn't randomly start digging as soon as Oscar season happen. Likewise, the director of that Trump movie that Sebastian Stan was nominated for wasn't "suddenly" hit with sexual abuse allegations just as soon as the nominees were decided.

The Oscars happened? I thought that required movies anyone heard of to be released.

I should have been exposed to strong opinions on all of these from the type of people who need to pull a red wood out of their ass and I've heard of none of them. I was starting to think movies just don't get released anymore.

I generally don't really care about the Oscars, Golden Globes, etc. but I always want to see the movies and artists I like get the recognition I believe they deserve. If I had my way, The Substance would've won in every single category it was nominated in.

I like that Ralph Fiennes may have lost again because a bunch of voters thought he'd already won an Oscar and Brody hadn't and they were too lazy to double check on Google. I thought they were both deserving though.

Weirdly enough the Holocaust really isn't acknowledged in the movie as much as you'd think it would be (at least in my opinion). It seemed like that detail took a backseat to literally everything else and I forgot about it.
