Oscars 2025

I generally don't really care about the Oscars, Golden Globes, etc. but I always want to see the movies and artists I like get the recognition I believe they deserve. If I had my way, The Substance would've won in every single category it was nominated in.
Adrien Brody winning for another Holocaust movie is kind of funny.
I like that Ralph Fiennes may have lost again because a bunch of voters thought he'd already won an Oscar and Brody hadn't and they were too lazy to double check on Google. I thought they were both deserving though.

Weirdly enough the Holocaust really isn't acknowledged in the movie as much as you'd think it would be (at least in my opinion). It seemed like that detail took a backseat to literally everything else and I forgot about it.

I really liked Conan did a Norm hommage for the whole night. Only one Blompf joke that I can remember - which must be a record in the last decade.

The film selection was pretty weak tho, the only really good and interesting thing in the roster was The Substance. I was rooting for the funniest, most retarded wins tho: Conclave for best flick and the troon for actress. It would be hilarious.

What's the deal with Anora? I saw a trailer for ir, and it just looked like an edgier Pretty Woman to me.
Sean Baker´s naturalist film making... it´s accessible. I dont think he is groundbreaking but compared to something like Conclave, it´s a breath of fresh air. His cinematography is usually extremely beautiful as well.

He was born to wear striped pajamas

He was shown in a memoriam segment.

A publicist? Seriously? Can't wait for them to start giving a "Best Shill" award.

It pisses me off that Emilia Perez got that many nominations but getting nomed for things like Cinematography like cmon it ranged from pretty pedestrian to outright terrible.
The sad thing is the only reason it got btfo was they found out the tranny said some absolutely true things about shitlib shibboleths, if it wasn't for that it might have swept everything.

Strongly agree. The Holocaust is the plot device to make the audience empathise with Toth's less than desirable characteristics, as it's not acknowledged much bar some brief conversations about his history and the ending where it's affirmed
The project was a monument to his suffering during the war.
Zero striped pyjamas and Sieg Heils. Brody deserved the win; it was a poignant performance.

Conclave was also robbed, but that's the Oscars.

Fiennes was robbed, yet again. I hope he gets his "We Should Have Given You This A While Back, Sorry" Oscar very soon.

Demi should have won. That was a tremendous performance.

Anora was boring. Madison was ok in it, but fundamentally the film is dull.

Lol at trannies. Good on Zoe Saldana though, she's always been underrated for her acting chops.

I absolutely hate Adrien Brody's on screen presence but I did love him bringing along Georgina "I Knew Nothing Honest" Chapman to the Oscars as if, well, she knew nothing. I would have loved to see the glares she must have been getting.

Hopefully Ariana will now feel she is able to eat something.

It was alright/a fun watch. It felt like a Netflix-style (cinematography/snarky writing wise) chickflick. I have absolutely no fucking idea how it ended up winning multiple Oscars. It's like if someone nominated the wacky Netflix original "365 Days" for Oscars. Anora is a streaming quality film (not that there's anything wrong with that) not cinema.

The fact that Demi lost out to Mikey proves the point of the Substance more than anything else I can think of. Just glad Flow wom Best Animated Feature. It's the only award I cared about.
Flow was amazing! I kinda want to go see it a second time. Glad to see it win, though I have no idea what else was nominated in the Animation category.

Robbed of what? That film teetered between hilarious(ly embarrassing) and boring. The ending was more bonkers, despite pretty obvious from the introduction of the ween, than The Substance.
agree. i was stunned that of all things this movie won for writing/screenplay. wtf? fiennes was fine, but the supporting characters were flat cardboard caricatures and the plot was basically paint-by-numbers up to and including the comically stupid ending. the visuals/cinematography were very well done, nom/win for that would have been fine but anything else i don't think so. the movie is just bad

Why do trannies even exist to begin with....?
Also it seems that tranny Perez didnt suck all the right dicks to get an oscar but 13 nominations. Thats like being offered an icecream 13 times only for the same person offering said icecream slappping it off your hand out of malice, 13 times the failure. Another huge loss for trannies everywhere!
