Overwatch

Ranked is something else. I finished S2 as M1 DPS, got GM5 S3 with no games played, and now GM3. But here's the kicker. I finished GM1 as Support and got decayed to M2, robbing me of a GM title I wasn't going to use but nice to have.

At least for my Support case, it's been confirmed that that happened as part of adjusting off of S3's inflation for top GM players and ranks now reflecting your true MMR. This meant why my promo put me in GM2. I understand why because getting GM in this game is an actual joke compared to OW1 and I don't believe that I belong here because of that.

Considering how the most popular thing Overwatch as an IP seems to have is the porn of it
10-15+ years from now, the copious amounts of porn and how much more mainstream r34 became will be what OW is remembered for and that alone. No one will look back on on dogshit professional OW teams.
literally the Ship is “They Both Fly, so Lesbians”.
I wanna say they put in a somewhat flirty voice line between phara and mercy in OW2.

iirc in OW1 it was more or less implied genji and mercy where a thing.
His voice actor is a 19 year old Thai Boy Love actor. They really want the tumblristas to pay attention to this game again. lol
This guy is a literal benny boy

:story:

Lifeweaver is the gayest thing I've ever seen.

He would have been more interesting if he'd looked and sounded like that and then been the straightest straight guy to ever exist.

He carries himself like a gayer version of a Mughal prince, I can't un-see his levitating fucking flower as a gogo cage without the bars, he 'yoinks' teammates around, flirts non fucking stop, and even Doomfist (in coded language) in-game tells him to get serious, calling his "aesthetics" a distraction.

Fucking lol.

The best part is since his kit is so fucking stupid in-game as much as in-character he comes across like a clueless young man. He thinks he knows better and pulls you back, endlessly avoiding conflict or confrontation, but all it does is piss you off. Then he randomly "gets it up" and a fucking tree pops out of nowhere.

Not a big fan of how Lifeweaver's healing works. His pull is likely going to be used for just as much trolling as Mei's ice wall is.

Also lol at the way he gives the player a horny once-over in his hero select animation. Blizzard really wants you to know that this guy is a manwhore.

Yeah, I can't believe they launched a support with that bad of a healing ability. I think the only time that ever happened was with Ana.

Also, at least for GM on console, it's getting mad annoying as a support to go against Ball, Doomfist, and Sombra. Once had a game where they had Ball, Tracer, Sombra when I wanted to play Zen. I swapped and we won but that is by and far the most unfun game of OW I've had. I don't even care when I run into mnk/Ximming Widows. After playing Widow customs, just have variable crouch spamming and crank 360s, it's really hard to HS that movement. When my video game experience is akin to me having to swat multiple flys away while I'm just trying to eat my food and have a good time, where is the fun in that? I'd say I'mma just Smurf, but it doesn't get rid of the annoying heros that exist in the game. Bro, just bring back Hero Pools/Bans.

Maybe its because I'm neither an owfag nor a coomer but I don't see ow porn being posted around that much anymore.

It basically created an entire market for semi to outright professional quality content. Dont think the likes of vgerotica or fpsblyck would be around today without it.

No idea who those are but I thought the first ones to become a studio were those guys with the angry horse logo, they did mostly SFM which I guess its old shit now.

I played Overwatch a fair amount the other day and I don't know if LifeWeaver sucks or the ones playing him suck. (I did not try because I will not give Blizzard any money for this new shit.) All I know is that if I was playing a healer, I had to work my ass off to keep the team alive.

Coming out with a character like LifeWeaver but making him pansexual and flirty is going to do the opposite of what they hoped for. Fangirls like to be able to daydream about being someone's One And Only. How can they feel special through their Mary Sue OC when the guy is the town bicycle? What fun is that?

Le sigh.

I want teams to have six players again.
I want lootboxes back.
I want any new characters to be available to everyone.
I want the scorecards at the end of the matches.
I want to be able to endorse 3 people, not 2.

I'm trying to understand how Lifeweaver works. The arcade game mode associated with it doesn't take much advantage of his toolkit. Mirror fights take forever with its pull ability and low damage output

Back into OW2 competitive, Blizzard made some adjustments with their ranking system. They removed decay, which means some players increased in rank. I went from Bronze tank, Silver support to Silver tank, Platinum support. S3.

I KNEW I wasn't THAT bad.

I got to t500 and man is the community on console insufferable. If anyone doesn't know, there's a device that allows for MnK inputs to be translated to analog movements with aim assist. It's an issue when not in GM, because they mostly all end up there. But in GM, you'll usually find that one hits can player that will dink everyone. It's annoying but doesn't phase me because you'll most likely have someone with one or as good on both teams. What sucks is when pretty obvious nuisances go unhandled. For example, enemy Echo with mercy pocket not dying when my DPS are both Hitscan and don't kill her when she makes frequent mistakes. That and everyone not being adults with a salty teammate saying "(insert role) diff" when a person misplays and complaining in both team and match chat.

How can you tell if somebody is illegitimately playing MnK?

In my experience, Gold/Platinum play is another world. Fights are scattered and people are more toxic. Blizzard added "match rank" with the lobby; you have an idea of what your next rank would be game from game.

"Added" it was a feature in the previous game. It would show everyone's rank next to their name so this is nothing new. If anything, it's worse. I don't care to tell if someone is MnK but when I want to know I'll look for small micro-movements or flicks that'd be impossible on controller.

I miss when everybody's rank was front and center on the pre-game lobby. The "match rank" should be supplementary. I'm grateful for the rank boost, but I am sweating bullets with every game.

How do you even play Tank? I want to keep my Platinum if I can help it.

I play on Asian servers, so the experience is obviously different, but I would happily have Lifeweaver on my team over useless ball-bot Zenyatta because he at least has some forms of movement, self-preservation, burst healing and protective abilities. He's obviously designed to exploit the environment, which makes him situational depending on the map. It would explain why some of the newer ones like Shambali Monastary, Circuit Royal and Arctic Peninsula have such an unusual abundance of line of sight blockers, ledges and raised areas if they had this character's abilities in mind.

As for his voice acting, it might just be that like many Indo-Chinese languages, the Thai accent when speaking English uses all the wrong inflections and emphasis. I wonder if the actor is putting it on, as Anjali Bhimani (Symmetra's voice actor) has no trace of an Indian accent when speaking naturally.

Personally speaking, because you're the only tank, you need to dedicate yourself to countering the enemy tank or at least reaching parity while eyeing the needs of your team. What makes this complicated is the absence of barriers - you can kick ass as Doomfist, Wrecking Ball or Orisa but you can still get clobbered because your team has no other tank to offer protection against attacks. Even if it's actually the tactically smart thing to do, running off and achieving stuff on your own seems unfortunately more likely to guarantee your loss. So you have to be intelligently aggressive, always attacking and leading the charging within range of support, actively seeking to cover and protect incapacitated or overwhelmed teammates, and not pursuing fleeing enemies over guarding the objective.

Needs like shielding, protecting, stalling, even distracting?

It feels like being Tank is babysitting the objective or being the front end of attack when pushing corners. In my experience, it's hard to be aggressive without leaving your team out to dry. So, try to pick off the other tank and go from there.
