A player got banned for typing "GG", it got covered by Dexerto and blizzard didn't budge for a second.

I know these are a bunch of troons and bugmen, but I hope they quit, the game shuts down, and the company goes under. What a bunch of faggots.

Xbox has been cesspool of failure after failure with the only exception being the Xbox 360, now they barely get quarter or third of that, you just wait for another economic crisis and Cucksoft would get rid of blizzard and it's IP asap.

Blizzard posted an article detailing the character development of Venture today.

In particular, despite being the most curious aspect about Venture, all that is said about her "non-binary" status is this, according to Senior Narrative Designer Miranda Moyer:
We built on this idea to create their personality. To fit the archetype of an adventurous archaeologist, we wanted someone who was daring, passionate, and unabashedly themselves.

This personality ended up meshing really well with Venture’s gender identity. Venture is our first trans non-binary hero, and they use they/them pronouns. To ensure we would represent Venture’s identity as authentically as possible, the development team for Venture worked very closely with the LGBT Network at Blizzard as well as gender non-conforming developers on Team 4, gathering feedback and refining them over time. We even consulted with a queer fashion company to help us realize Venture in a way that felt most true to their identity and the queer community at large.

But in addition, there's also this series of early, brainstorming concepts for "Miner" by Senior concept artist Kejun Wang.

According to Lead Character Concept Artist Daryl Tan, "the only thing we knew about the hero was that we wanted this hero to dig underground – so, they needed a huge drill." All of the above concepts read to me as "feminine, but not too feminine," however, so even though Tan implicitly denies it, I strongly suspect that "non-binary" (rather than female) was specifically decreed from the very onset at the same time as "miner".

Furthermore, now that Venture has a profile on the official website, I see that she's 26 years old when I was guessing she'd be barely an adult at most for plausible androgyny given her childish behavior. Even more solid indication that Venture is definitely a woman rather than a teenage boy.

Holy fuck those designs are mediocre as shit.

I get the concept is very lazy and very clearly going to be "non binary" but I'm more shocked at the lack of innovation of the mining concept. It's 2077, there are robots monks with souls and a rocket powered sledgehammer and most of the mining drills (which would be 100% key to the identity of a character called MINR) just look like relatively normal mining drills.

I'd wager that "non binary" and "quirky" were at the top of the list (the art team probably was told 'Ed from Cowboy Bebop') and the Miner concept showed up later.

I'm going to guess their player moderation team now consists of intern zoomers with the emotional strength of spun sugar.

It probably doesn't help that not a single person who actually works on and maintains the game has ever played it.

It's funny because it kind of betrays how shallow the 'non-binary' thing is from a character perspective. Symmetra's autism is an important part of her personality, her motive and her game abilities. Liveweaver's sexuality at least arguably reflects his personality and his attitude towards the world. Both of these things come across even just in game.

Mole Bitch's gender identity isn't an unchangeable component about themselves, it's a label they have chosen that represents them. It doesn't provide a perspective or set of experience that would inform their character or abilities, in fact a lot of her personality could be summed up as a zanier and more tomboyish Mei.

It makes me sad too because the game has a good gameplay loop, compare it to other slop like Fortnite and Apex and it is probably better. Venture's kit is pretty OK though she is still one of my top dps but my god the design and execution just sucks. The fact she has no skins either shows they don't know how to make their aesthetic because their silhouette is ass.

they stopped making porn from this slob awhile ago and blizzard makes sure their new characters are ugly enough not to encourage more.
