Overwatch

New D.Va buffs are amazing. She feels a lot more fluid now. Having Defense Matrix on whenever you want it is great, since you rarely need it for more than one or two seconds.

Also, that reduced timer on her Self-Destruct. I'm getting so many kills on it now since people can't bail fast enough now. Fucking :heart-full:.

She's pretty much taken over Winston's job as harasser. Poor monkey.

Finally manage to test Ana, she is by now my favorite healer, i can deal enough damage to get assists, and heal when is necessary and finally we can troll Roadhogs with the biotic grenade

And by mere accident i found a way to annoy people in el dorado using Genji and Hanzo, the power of the GLORIOUS MARTIAL ARTS FROM JAPAN

Ana is really strong if you can aim and also manage the general chaos of a normal match. That's really the hardest part of any sniper character. The game just becomes a clusterfuck and it gets hard to properly target the person you want.

People bitch about her healing being too weak but it's probably because most randoms play her as a shittier Widowmaker when you should focus more on shooting your teammates rather than the enemy. Granted, you have plenty of opportunities to take shots at the other team if you're decent, but a good healer knows their priorities.

That said, her ult is amazing. I think every time I've used it on a Reinhardt he then goes on to get a team kill or close to it.

One of my friends and i began to test her in a lot of situations, the most awesome combination we found was Tactical Visor + Nanoboost, that thing is pure rape

The only reason I don't often do more when nano-boosted as Reinhardt is because Anas seem to love using it on me when I'm a half-year away from the enemies and shielding too.

Yeah, most of the times I'm playing Ana, I'm with friends so we can actually coordinate. A well timed nano boost is devastating. Zarya's shield is the same way. I play Zarya a lot, so knowing when to time that stuff when being aggressive is the key.

Tanks get a big benefit from a nano-boost in general. The defense boost with armored health makes them damn near invincible.

I've been on the receiving end of a Nanoboost as Soldier. I'm basically Bastion at that point.

Not to signal boost here, but I uploaded a YouTube video for the first time just because this happened to be a PotG from a Hollywood match and the chat and I just kinda died laughing.

God, that was stupid.

So, after some hours poured into this game, I STILL don't get how Widow and Hanzo really work effectively against moving targets. Or have I been a dumbass the whole time and you have to lead the shots instead of falling back on hitscan?

And the Switzerland award goes to...

Hanzo uses projectiles. They have their own hitbox. Shit gets weird when it interacts with other hitboxes.

As for Widow, you need to just not be terrible at aiming.

Widow can handle it if you use spider mines and the automatic mode of the Widow Kiss, Hanzo has the problem that his arrow is not as fast so you have to improvise using his Scatter Arrow, the thing is letal in maps like Hanamura or Lijiang tower

And to brag a little for some reason i nailed a quadruple kill by accident (i wanted to get rid of D.Va)

Funny enough trying to knock a D.Va off the map is one of the most fruitless things ever since she'll just fly back up (if she doesn't just shoot it down first).

But at least you can say "PLANNED."

Originally I was hesitant about getting Overwatch because everybody was going out of their way to call it the "New Team Fortress 2", or whatever, and generally marketing it like that to me in conversation. I have over 1200 hours in Team Fortress 2 that I've gathered over a period of five years. Usually when somebody attempts to get me to buy something by claiming I should only get it because it's the new and improved, cooler, shinier version of something nice I already own and appreciate well enough alone, usually my initial response is to politely ask them to fuck off.

But since the disaster with TF2's "Meat Your Match" update about a month or so ago, the game is really pretty much dead at this point so I figured I'd go ahead and give it a try.

Overwatch is great and I think the only real notable thing it has in common with TF2 is its class-based teamwork mechanics, which are still pretty unique on their own. They are still very different games that are unique in their own rights and I think calling it the "next TF2" is an unfair comparison for both games.

I've had the game for about a month or so now so I still haven't explored everything about it. I'm pretty competent with most of the characters right now but currently I main McCree and Mei (yeah I know, fuck me). It's actually really interesting to me because Mei is essentially Overwatch's answer to the TF2 pyro. I fucking hate everything about the pyro, from his overbuffed weapons (phlogistinator, backburner, etc.) and unbelievable hitbox range to his stupid character and the obnoxious fan arguments over whether or not he is a man or a woman (he's a man), the pyro is just awful to me, and I hate "hacky" no-skill classes like him in video games.

But I think Mei is fucking great, and I still haven't figured out why.
