The battle pass costs $10 if you ignore the extra skins they're trying to shill.

I almost feel bad for Flats - normally he at least tries to be positive at the start of a new Season. And now, 3 days in the newest Season…


Look, I half watch Flats just so I can keep track of how the game is circling the drain, but when even he’s slowly being convinced by his chat to become a variety streamer you know the games in a Bad Way.
 
Double post, but this shits funny - people are apparently hacking to give themselves the new Mercy Charity Skin.

You know shits fucked when people would risk a ban rather than donate to charity and let Blizzard handle their money.
 
I decided to install the game again after a long break and I remembered why I deleted it in the first place. There's just no amount of carrying you can do when tank or one support is sufficiently retarded and I shouldn't be subjected to a decisive curbstomp because the diamond tank refuses to turn around and check on where his team is before 1v4ing this shit. Or because the Mercy one trick will never ever under any circumstances pick any other support. Fuck this sad game I played it again for 4 days and got pissed off more than I ever did in the almost year I didn't play it. Nothing makes me hate myself and the world as much as this shit.

And nobody ever speaks man. After I played a bit of Valorant I realized how nice having voice chat is. Every player in every lobby, no matter if competitive or unrated, always talks. And nobody ever does that in Overwatch. Why are they staying in one place typing shit instead of talking like a normal human being. Fuck this game I hate it so much it's unreal.

I read somewhere that even the developers agree that tank is abysmal to play as.

PC, correct? I know Valorant is coming to consoles. I was thinking of trying Valorant, but I imagine that community is as toxic as OW2 despite its colorful, diverse lineup.
 
Earlier I was thinking of picking up Valorant too after I finish Elden Ring DLC. Games are just pretty dead atm, OW just feels like a bot game honestly.

It's pretty toxic but it depends a lot on the hour you play. I usually log in for no more than a game or two at night and it's overall okay. If you play during the day you get a bunch of kids screaming, burping and farting on the mic while their mothers clean their rooms and yell in the background.

But it's a much more competitive game especially in ranked. There are all the problems other games have like leavers and people going afk after the first 2 rounds but other than that it's a better experience than Overwatch. Maps are better, strategies are more fun, balance is way better. The whole match doesn't depends on rather one person is mentally challenged despite being Diamond and technically better than 80% of the playerbase. I mean, people make stupid mistakes all the time but you don't get curbstomped without a chance to fight back because your tank isn't feeling it today. Even if a teammate sucks the rest of you can capitalize on that and use him as bait and trade him. I'd say players take it more seriously, at least that's my impression after playing for a few months. However matchmaking can be pretty shit sometimes and curbstomps happen often. Lots of smurfs too. 2 out of 3 low lvl accounts are smurfing and it's not fun at all.

I think it will be fun on consoles too. Unlike Overwatch, aiming in Valorant requires less tracking and more consistent crossahair placement and micro adjustments. It's weird, simultaneously easier yet harder than Overwatch, don't know how to explain it. It takes getting used to for sure but I guess there will be some form of auto aim for console making it easier on controllers.

You'll either quickly love it or hate it when coming from Overwatch. Imagine everybody is playing Widowmaker. Time to kill is extremely low, most of the weapons kill you with a single headshot and it takes some time before you understand how not to get one tapped every time you show your head.

Any thoughts on Marvel Rivals? It looks fun and I am cautiously optimistic that it will be a success simply because it will help people realize their abusive relationship with Overwatch is unhealthy.
 
I am sure Marvel Rivals will recieve a ton of players after this "balance" patch. Tanks are completely overtuned and broken, you can get multiple team kills in one game. I was on Zarya and got 3 team kills. It's cracked when a Zarya can face tank a Bastion in turret form at 25% charge. I did not even try Sigma yet but people are saying he is completely broken now.

If it’s Free to Play, I’m willing to give it a shot. It’ll likely have a decent player base owing to the MCU fans latching onto anything Marvel that I’d imagine Queue Times won’t be atrocious, and worst case if the games shit I speedrun a Ban.

To quote a comment from Flats video on this patch - the Devs are cooking, but it’s pretty obvious they’re cooking Meth.

Circling back to why 5v5 was a shit idea, at least when there were 2 tanks they could afford to not be overloaded. Now that the Tank is the teams single Point of Failure, they’ve now broken the balance by making the Tank both unkillable and able to dominate easily. It’s morbidly amusing to watch from the outside looking in.

Yeah everything about her and the trailer looks cheap as fuck. Her design looks very modular like they're trying to reuse existing character assets to make something new on a lower budget. I wouldn't be surprised if they just used Dva's face and body as a base. The big ass they gave her is probably an attempt at the coomers again after the abomination that was Venture.
