Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

Didn't Nintendo sue Palworld 3 times already?

Apparently they even sued A Hat In Time.
Actually, they sued Retro after putting out Metroid Prime, because it was too similar to their existing series, Regular Metroid. They then remembered that they contracted Retro for this, then sued them anyway. That's why Prime 4 is taking so long.

The terminally-online who tie their identities to the corporate products they buy and view a "competitor's" success as an attack on their personal self-image. They're probably Pokemon "fans" in the same way they're D&D "fans" or whatever other product they can wear on themselves as a bio badge of honor while badgering the company to put more support for their personal social issue crusade.

That's the same thing with DBZ fans, every single time a new action action show gets the spotlight, Invincible and One Punch Man being the most recent examples. DBZ fans lose their shits and start talking about power levels and shit.

>ok that's enough Palwurld for today
>close Palwurld
>realize no other game is interesting
>relaunch Palwurld
>get raided by "obsessed fans"
>it's 2x the funny number always horny lizard thing
Managed to capture one, just barely. The first got fucking obliterated before I could even take aim with a ball. Named it appropriately, of course.

And then my second base got raided by a 10-pack of some level 17 hippies who waltzed in, got peppered and I think decided to skedaddle because their odds weren't looking too great. They proceeded to run towards the nearest cliff nad collectively lemming off it before I could kill them.
By the way, is it possible to completely turn off motion blur ingame or do I have to dive in the inis? I have it on OFF and it's still there.

Just so you know pretty sure Campbell is making a joke considering Retro is owned by Nintendo and Nintendo themselves came to them to work on Metroid Prime.
Fuck.
Man, don't tell me twice: at this point i can assume Nintendo could pull that type of crap.

I've been hearing they're pokemon fans, though I don't recall this kind of vitriol being sprayed at Digimon or the like. The attitude I've seen from Pokemon fans that Palworld gives them what Game Freak failed to. Meanwhile, in the Discord servers where people fly into a rage about this, I've noticed pretty much all are far-left pronouns-in-bio types. Or maybe the ven diagram is just a circle, I don't know.
I got into an argument about it some time ago, where someone hoped. Just checked the discord bio...

Your theory definitely has at least some merit.
had to buy some of the ingredients because I'd yet to get the necessary pals to be churning them all out on the base.
IMO you need all 3 bases to really progress. 1 for manufacturing, 1 for mining and 1 for farming/breeding. Really hope we'll be able to up the amount of bases/pals per base in the future.

Palworld definitely wasn't sued. And can't find anything about aHiT

Not that I know of. If they did, post the details.

I heard Palworld haters were saying Nintendo/Game Freak/The Pokemon Company were going to sue, and kept spamming emails and messages to that effect. So much so that they put out a statement.

I also heard the pokemon mod got DMCA'd almost immediately. Supposedly it was paywalled and used Pokemon assets, so that at least makes sense.

I also heard the old trailers for Palworld were pulled from YouTube, but the current trailers remain. I've not heard a reason yet.

Probably just because the old trailers have features that didn't end up coming over to the new engine, like vehicles. Plus, they frankly look awful compared to what we actually got.

And cake. Don't forget there must also be cake.

On the topic of breeding finally got to the point where I could give that a try, had to buy some of the ingredients because I'd yet to get the necessary pals to be churning them all out on the base. Turns out breeding a manta ray and a giant bird gives you a flame samurai. Because of course it does.

Another useful combo is breeding a Bushi (fire samurai) and a Penking (pirate penguin) gives you an Anubis. Breeding a Relaxasaurus with an thunder Pal gives you Relaxasaurus Lux, which is great for early electricity generation.

Basically, as far as Palworld was, Nintendo's official response was "we'll look into it" which is basically a nothingburger yet the Palworld haters saw this as some sort of victory.

I'm going to laugh so much if Palworld winds up being ported to the Switch. The salt will be glorious.

I fucking hate UE5 so much it's... it's... no. Too easy.
To be fair, all temporal AA works like that, regardless of engine.
Temporal AA is (simplified) just retaining some of the last few rendered frames and mixes them together with the current frame to smooth out the picture and reduce Aliasing. Doing it this is way less performance intensive than other AA methods and it looks pretty good on static or slowly moving scenes.
Its just that this "mixing with old frames" generally happens to the entire image and that causes motion blur.

I finally unlocked my third base and I built it where @SteelPlatedHeart recommended and it's really nice, it's in a nice area that's really difficult for raiders to access and it's a good source of ore, coal, and wood. There's one thing I have an issue is the lack any stone deposits but that's fixable with a quarry/crusher combo. I'll more than likely end up turning it into a production facility and rebuild my other two bases elsewhere.

If Palworld ever comes to the Switch (which I doubt considering the game's in early access right now, I could see it ending up on the Switch's successor) probably going to be a downgraded port.

Their road map was hoping to have vehicles back in, however I think/hope they will keep their ambitions sane.

Interesting. And I got a Penking from a random egg.

Sounds like I'm better off without it anyway. I absolutely cannot fucking stand motion blur in any capacity. Might as well set up trannyshade to compensate if I start to see jaggies.
edit: turns out I had something called TSR enabled, which is indeed an UE5 exclusive. Who knows, maybe TAA will not have the blur.
edit2: I turned off AA completely and the blur is STILL THERE. Time to dive into the inis.
edit3: Hot damn Epic loves their blur. You actually have to add the hard disable in the engine config file itself. It's under AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows.
Code:
[SystemSettings]
r.MotionBlur.Max=0
r.MotionBlurQuality=0
r.DefaultFeature.MotionBlur=0
Now it's gone completely.
Oh yeah, for the record, enabling TAA made the already existing blur worse.

I do have to mention that the game cycle really goes encourage you to go out and find the best pals for your base.
It encourages you to do dungeons and boss fights not only for rares but also for points and loot to build other artifacts.

It's a circle that feeds back on itself and scratches that itch of needing to ensure all the systems are going right. Or adding a base and then making two specialized bases.

There's just so much game here.
