I'm really not interested in CK 3 (no Deus Vult + being very burnt out on Paradox's DLC policy)
It also looks like it will run like shit and the exploits are already flooding youtube. maybe they should have ended 4x games after Stellaris.

Hasn't most of their competent programmers either retired or just entirely on the EU4 dev team? So we are basically seeing the leftover pozzed tards make the new game? Given how bad Rome was at launch and still is I'm surprised anyone bought ck3.

Everyone who buys a Paradox game instead of waiting for the DLC to fix it and then pirating it is in an abusive relationship.

Its just the worst person from every team. I also doubt that they will rework it after it flops. the team did everything to make the fans angry.

This might do the trick.

The inclusion of marginalized people in video games is a good thing.
The industry needs to do better.

Paradox hires retards like this and you wonder why the games suck now.

I have been waiting for Meiou and Taxes 3.0 for almost 2 years now.
Deaf in Texas, never ever.
They didn't make the Caliphate in the game. They just took screenshots of the in-game map and used photoshop to color in all the territory that they want in their Caliphate.
I used to have that map saved. One of the first that they used is from an early iteration of the HPM mod for Victoria 2 and they forgot to remove Austria-Hungary.

Wasn't the last Paradox game that was even remotely playable on release EU4, and that's just because it was a reskinned EU3+expansions at that point? CK2 was also good on release (going by the standards of the original Crusader Kings). Maybe that era of Paradox had some level of quality control or they got lucky, who knows.

If capitalism is evil then why do I get banned from the Paradox Forums if I post links to get their games for free?

I have no doubt that CK3 will be playable on release. It's still basically building upon CK2's core mechanics and the roleplaying and world domination facets of the game are still in there as far as I can see. The true danger is whether they've sucked the fun out of it.

Although there's a very real chance we just haven't seen how broken the game is. There's an embargo on reviews before release. So all anyone has to go on are the dev streams and Paradox sponsored videos by a few creators like spiffingbrit and quill18. I believe there are some streams/let's play being released by selected youtube and twitch players today and tomorrow, but the attempts of Paradox to keep players from getting a complete picture of the game until after they've put money down is very shady.

I haven't bothered with Paradox games since Stellaris but EU4 was definitely the best launch title they made, though honestly I think CK3 looks pretty decent and I'll pick it up at some point.

Ok, so, turns out, the embargo was lifted today, and all the reviews came out at once, about 24 hours before release.

Redditors are creaming themselves because it has a 91 approval rating from critics on Metacritic and opencritic. IGN gave it 10/10, and PCgamer gave it a 94.

This is ignoring that Imperator: Rome got a 8/10 and a 92 from IGN and PCgamer, respectively. But redditors are too busy patting themselves on the back to think about that.

The worst criticism I've seen of it yet is that cultural and dynasty head mechanics related to technology and legacy are slightly bugged when the character dies. The worst worst criticism I saw was one review that deducted points because it was 'confusing to quickly tell how distant relatives are related to you without looking at the dynasty chart'. Heaven forbid they have to, gasp, click a button. That's too much work for the mushy mind of a journalist.

Its really difficult to parse how buggy or broken the game actually might be by reviews because video game reviewers are morons who barely scratch the surface of mechanics. Once a couple spergs get a deep dive it will be clear how much of a broken mess it is. And having played paradox games since EU2, it's gonna be broken.

I have no prior experience with strategy games other than old flash games like bloons TD so maybe the genre just isnt for me but Stellaris is really fucking boring even with the speed turned up to max. There are a ton of little things the devs could do to make the game smoother but instead they seem more interested in making the game more "deep" by adding stupid restrictions. Its a shame because it has the potential to be an amazing game. Anyone else feel this way?
