Because once you are a publicly traded company, endless growth at all costs is the business equivalent of a moral imperative. They will make the same mistakes big publishers have made constantly over the past decade, whether it be casualization, consolization, or shoving in hamfisted left-wing representation the media loves, out of the deluded belief that they can do so to capture a new market without losing their former customer base.

It won't work, it never does, but large publishers the world over constantly double down on trying.

Civ 6 on Switch was alright. I've played a bit of Stellaris on Game Pass streaming because my PC killed itself, and that game's UX just fucking sucks because of how little effort Paradox put in.

You could count Civ, I wouldn't (game had good UI on Switch when I tried it too). Stellaris becomes a chore, on console AFAIK, when you get big because they put all your manageables in that big list you have to scroll through. You can mitigate it with the bumber buttons switching between sub-categories but it's still not good. So yeah, the UX is one of the reasons I just don't care for that game.

Okay so how fucking bad is it? I wanna know before I take the risk of downloading what could potentially be many images of whale porn. Or even worse, a bad Victoria game.

On console, we're missing Character Finder and Custom Ruler for CK3. If scrolling down list of marriages too much, you can't select anything until you back out of the menu/hides what character you have selected by not highlighting them. Sometimes if you try to conquer a county and you can afford it but not a duchy conquest, it'll grey out the screen and won't let you select it unless you select Conquer Duchy (which you can't afford) then select Conquer County. There will be times when doing trait selection for your wards but deciding to look at the trait tooltips and the ward's stats will bug you out to select only 1/3 of the three options. Dynasty unlocks progress from 1k to 2k to etc. We have to research all Tribal techs for feudal. And that's just a portion of overarching bugginess.

Oh my fucking God. This reminds me of the dogshit broken EU4 DLC they released and got a massive backlash for it. They couldn't handle the "hate" and criticism back then for their half assed game designs and general laziness. They started to cry all over social media about the "haydurs" and "toxic fanbase". I assume the only fanbase they'd want to listen, would be from reddit; their perfect circlejerk haven. They're pulling another victim card AGAIN, just like with the EU4 DLC scandal. Fuck sake's, maybe just make decent games again, and this shit wouldn't happen. I cannot wait until they're going to get legitimate competition, so they'd tear down this monopoly. Cry me a river.

Just like when they added the new shitty launcher to all of their games. People asked them to bring back the old launchers, or at least fix the new one. Paradox, of course, kept the new launcher and didn't really bother fixing it. It still doesn't work half the time.
I'm glad they're "demoralized", they treat their customers like shit, now it's their turn.
