The non-negotiable mod for CK2 imo is the eponymous "No India" mod.

The pre-India map is so much better.
Imo it is in the name Crusader Kings.
GAme should be focused on regions Catholic Europe interacted with during medieval period . So places like China and India should not be on map.

I don't agree that it should be Western Europe alone based on the name, rather simulating the intricacies of different styles of government becomes harder to simulate the more diverse the map gets. The way that Indian or Chinese governments functioned was simply too different to have work by the same rules. I would have rather they spent the time to actually represent the ways the Western European "Feudal" polities worked. The fact that neither game bothered to include systems of appointment or the slow transitions from systems of appointment to hereditary office or the opposite of hereditary office to appointment, has always struck me as the biggest flaw of the CK games. That was one of the most important elements of medieval rulership in Western Europe was the early, often abortive attempts at centralizing power, and the generally fluid relationships between the various powers within a realm.

But that sounds like something someone with a brain cell would play
The geniuses over on reddit aren't interested in actual history, they want to larp out their degenerate incest power fantasies and believe because they watched or read Game of Thrones they understand the medieval period (FUCK YOU GRRM YOU UNKNOWLEDGABLE FUCKING HACK)

Paradox listened to the third world retards that were demanding China should be in the game.
Now the game is unfixable.
They will have to dumb the game down even more in order to not cause performance issues due to East Asia sucking up so much performance even though people will only play there maybe once.
India was already a mistake and Paradox tripled down on it like the tranny retards they are.

India was honestly fine in CK2 because it hardly affected game performance even into the late game. You could ignore the region and it was even alright to play in.

My theory for why Paradox has been so obsessed with putting India into their games is that they believe they can get the India market. I'm sure they also care about increasing representation, but India is a massive English speaking market with a large middle class who can afford middle of the road commuters. Paradox is also wise enough to know that outright releasing a game specifically about India would not sell well with their established audience of western history nerds so they just release DLCs to show that they care.

You see this as well with Age of Empires 2 DLCs. India has been given multiple DLCs (Rise of the Rajas + Dynasties of India) and even an India faction in the recent Alexander the Great DLC.

It never affected performance in my games, but I don't think this was the case for most people. The Paradox forums were flooded with people complaining about it shortly after Raja's launch, along with the Steam forums, and it was so bad that many mods (HIP most famously) outright offered options to remove it. Europoors may have poor rigs but they were also Paradox's main audience in 2014.

I’ve come to a conclusion that the gigabrained way to render China/the Sinosphere pre-globalization is as a completely separate game spanning all of history.

Mechanically, what really differentiates periods isn’t war (except for the transition from doom stacks to trenches and air war, which I have theorized about how it could be done better) but political systems and China is cyclical remixing of the same shit over and over with a world that is A-OK to just sim off screen. The Chinese experience should be self contained and deep and recursive. Even the arrival of things like the Century of Humiliation and Communism should register in the same way as past dynasties. In the early game my gentleman-scholar family survived the Mongols. In mid game the Manchu. In late game the British. Japanese. Mao. All of it is just an endless stream. The wheel of dharma turns around.

I don't care how many mods Vic3 has, I'm not even pirating this game unless the army system has microable units again.
You mean you don't enjoy staring at Economic spreadsheets for hours while the same 3 songs repeat? I've been told by the heckin true paradox fans this is peak gameplay

Only when the economic spreadsheets are good. Vic 3 has absolute shit tier spreadsheets.

The problem with making a game focused on East-Asia is that Paradox would have to make good internal management mechanics. A game with rebellions actually being an existential threat.

Paradox gives us a Rorschach test for the CK3 Chapter V teaser. I can't bring myself to really care anymore after how badly they've fucked up the development of this game.

I see two hunched over people wearing cloaks with their hands clasped in front of them. Happy merchant time?

Hard to believe the game is 6 years old and still bare bones as hell. They are THIS close to making the game a true sequel and they fumble it every time. Travel, non-hereditary governments, dynamic cultures, they have a lot of good ideas but MAN the retards at paradox just cannot stick the landing.

Crusader Kings died the moment Crusader Kings II leaned into the Satanism stuff, because that’s when it stopped being grounded and turned into a meme generator, full of incest spam and everyone cheating on everyone. By the time Crusader Kings III came around the tone was already locked in.
The community is also unsalvageable.
