Path of Exile

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Sorry for double-post yadda yadda but holy shit. Zizaran might usually be the most milquetoast of the POE streamers because he's the largest but he stood his ground and made Jonathan mald in this interview:

This also confirms my theory that Jonathan barely plays the game at all since he's probably busy trying to fill Chris Wolcen's shoes while Neon (Mark Roberts) actually still does. Neon was famously the guy who malded so hard in Necropolis while trying to buy a bunch of catalysts that he added the currency exchange in 3.25 and the guy who told redditors to "deal with it" while discussing radical changes in the ZiggyD Q&A post-Settlers reveal. This means that this really was Jonathan's 'vision' backfiring.

And guess what?

I'm not that elated as I thought 0.2.0 was kinda fine and not as much an improvement from 0.1.0 so I'm not on the (((ARPG creator))) hate train, but he did get them to admit some errors and rectify them like how ridiculously large some campaign areas are so I find this a big positive.

My Warrior build came online and I’m next to invincible. Getting swarmed and barely seeing a change in life, priming and deleting 30 monsters in a second then leaping into the next pack, fucking awesome.
I’m on T1 maps so I’ll have to keep iterating obviously, but I have high hopes.
I have a unique body armour that gives 2500 armour and grants no extra damage from critical hits, so now I’m thinking I’ll go all in on armour, abandon the smith chest and keep going nuts with max res.

Don’t know what I’ll do choose for 3rd/4th ascendency, fire spell on hit looks pretty sweet and temper weapon might be really good for bosses.

Brass Dome is sick. I think I'll stick with the white chest armour because it's lower risk to corrupt normal armor than uniques if I ever reach that stage of upgrades.

My problem with Smith is that if you don't use the DIY chest armour, your third and fourth ascendancy points after the Chieftain res nodes are uninspired:

Fire Spell on hit requires you to have the int to even equip those gems you want triggered. Decompose or VD would've been fine but they nerfed those two. Flame Wall is pointless on melee. The only one that makes sense is Flammability assuming your attacks deal a significant amount of fire damage.

Manifest Weapon while giving you an immortal companion doesn't do much more damage by itself. Apparently, you can find a companion cluster somewhere in the skill tree which lets you get buffed with increased damage while you're close to your Manifest Weapon which seems to be its best use case.

And you might want to wait until they buff Temper Weapon but it should be able to serve its purpose against bosses rn.

I actually agree, and we might be the only two people that feel this way. Zizaran articulated his points moderately well after initially coming across like a petulant child, and Jonathan also did the same, calming down after coming across as a petulant child. But honestly I jumped into the game on an amazon and yes, it is noticeably more difficult than 0.1. At the same time I watched raxx stomp the campaign in a lich build and right now he's coasting through endgame on a lightning spear build. As a contrast, he beat Jamanra on his second try with his huntress, while Neversink, one of the so-called masters of the game ragequit on the boss after bashing his head against the wall for 3 straight hours. Its not the games fault he exposed himself as not the expert he says he is.

Changes obviously needed to happen because they are speed-running patches and updates, but I am not so sure the POE influences like ziz, ben, and neversink are the best places to get feedback from. They are getting humiliated by fat diablo spics with liver failure like raxx and actual childlike retards from wow like quinn.

Neversink is famous from making the loot filters and the tool to customize it, I never heard him being mentioned as a good player, or that he pretends to be (not that I watch streamers anyway).

Ben and Ziz are HC player, they have a different approach than most player and most of their feedback and balance proposition should be taken with that context in mind. Ben is insanely skilled tho, probably in the top 5 best PoE players of all time.

As the guy said above, Neversink just makes the filter site out of love of the game (GGG tried to hire him and he refused). Ben is absolutely not getting humiliated as he just blasted his way to maps with a Deadeye in less than a day in HC Trade. He just dropped a video about his feedback in the context of the interview and I am agreeing with him on his articulation on game design. I trust his judgment since he is an experienced QA tester at this point but the call is still up to GGG on how they respond to feedback. Ziz is just a milquetoast streamer who tends to go with the flow so I'd agree with his feedback being similar to whatever they've heard before and not being as helpful.

I think you should be blaming the more vocal crybabies with decent followings like Steelmage and Ruetoo.

What the fuck is happening with PoE1 servers? I've lost a shit ton of orbs and scarabs to server disconnects booting me from the game and closing my map portals.

Last Epoch Season 2 released today.
Servers are working almost flawlessly, just restart Steam if you get error LE-52 when trying to login. will only do it once, it filtered me for a solid 20min ;-;

I would recommend Last Epoch to anyone, PoE veterans will find it satisfying and new comers to the Hack'n'Slash genre will have a good time. My one issue with LE was the bare bone endgame but it should have been fixed with this update.

You don't have to follow any guide, just go with whatever you find cool, experiment (all respects are very cheap), and look up a guide once you want to push further in the end game Monoliths (maps). You can swap between 'ascendancy' as of this update, so you're only locked on your class choice (made at character creation).

The game feature optional 'trade mode' or 'self-farm mode' that you pick late into the campaign (Factions), you can swap between the two. The trade is made in an in-game auction house - fairly clunky to use tho, and you need a high faction level to trade good items. The SFF mode gives bonus loot and prophecies to force the drop of whatever you seek! The only restrain is that you cannot use gear spawned or bought from one mode if you switch to the other. I advice to go with self-farm mode (Circle of Fortune), unless you're going for a build that needs a specific unique to get online, or you know you're going to fully min-max your build (easier to buy BiS items to finish it up)
It also has True full offline mode. (offline characters are separate from online ones)

Before this 1.2 update the playtime was about 50h for a H'n'S veteran, 75h for a newcomer (before re-rolling to try other build), with the new end game content this should be easily doubled without trying to min-max a single build. Price tag 35$ with only purely cosmetic MTX if you want to spend extra. Stash tabs paid in gold (in-game currency).

https://www.lastepochtools.com/ is both the build planner and de facto wiki, maxroll.gg also have good guides (not that you should seek them, going in blind is viable and will be funnier IMO)

Btw Sorcerer (Mage) with meteor belt = PoE 2's cast on freeze gameplay. Proc it with Glacier.

Thanks, man! I played LE when it first came out and liked it well enough, I was waiting for more updates and it slipped through the cracks. I really liked their crafting system.

I got to maps.
I got bored again.
Idk, but while I was playing, I kept wanting to either do some Helldivers run or some Total War campaign.
I want Jonathan's vision to come true somehow, but you can't really do combo play, when you have high speed niggers coming at you from all directions, and you need to kill them fast. And this is basically all endgame map mods (Breach, Ritual etc)
I'll come back for 0.3 and try again, and maybe this time I won't forget the tracking ring/scroll for autistic bragging in chat.

Some PoE1 news! The new 3.26 league is called "Secrets of the Atlas", and it is most likely an endgame expansion, considering past endgame expansion have been named "X of the Atlas" (angry reminder that the last endgame expansion was a bit over three years ago...).

Reveal and info and stuff on June 5, and the league itself releases on June 13.

We're back, baybee!

Looks like the roses from the teasers were not teasing Zana, although it can't be ruled out that this character might be allied with her. One thing that I notice in this trailer is that the white thing resembling roots or a cell looks similar to the way corruption spills out from killed rare monsters in POE 2 maps, interesting...they might be trying to bridge the two's lores already.

And the theory I'm most convinced by on who this 'The Originator' is is the being that happens to be Maven's progenitor since her guardian has said many times that she's practically a child in eldritch being terms and that her progenitor might get angry with us beating Maven.

Hello gentlemen.
Tomorrow is June 5th, which means league reveal stream! There will be a Twitch drop enabled for the stream, which you can find here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3786585 - Read the thread to see the start time in your local timezone. The drop looks really cool, and it tracks your kills, death, and K/D ratio.

Here's a writeup of all the teasers we have gotten so far if you haven't kept up:
- You can now pause the game, by either pressing Escape, opening your passive tree, or if any lag is detected (except if you have the "Cannot pause" debuff, which they say is mostly reserved for pinnacle boss encounters)!
- You are now able to use Orb of Horizons on Elder Guardian and Conquerer Guardian Maps! This rerolls both the Guardian and the base map. Great addition for SSF players.
- You now have access to a small inventory on your Map Device, which looks like this:
1749020080292.webp
- Jun has passed the ability to unveil items onto us, and you are now able to right-click a veiled item in your inventory to open the unveiling menu. They are also changing the way you unlock these veiled modifiers. They describe it as "You'll discover these crafts throughout the endgame, specifically next to boss rooms in core maps on your atlas" (that would probably mean no unique maps).
- Old Veiled Chaos Orbs are returning! Veiled Chaos Orb now reads: "Reforges a rare item with new random modifiers including a random veiled modifier". They are moving the functionality of the Veiled Chaos orb from 3.25 onto the new currency item Veiled Exalted Orb, which reads: "Removes a random modifier and adds a random veiled modifier to a rare item".
- Two new Influenced Exalted Orbs are entering the game. The Shaper's Exalted Orb can be used on a rare item to apply the Shaper Influence and add a new random Shaper modifier. The Elder's Exalted Orb does the same, but for the Elder Influence.
- They are adding a new UI to strongboxes and essence monsters that will display crafting options based on what you have in your inventory (Divine Orbs do not show up), which looks like this:
1749020733311.webp
- This last one is from a reddit comment from the /u/Community_Team account, where they say they are working on letting you CTRL+Click on bench crafts to apply them to items:

Here's a writeup of all the teasers we have gotten so far if you haven't kept up
For the more hidden things shown in teasers other fellow autists have found:

- Gold remains since we're obviously keeping the currency exchange but the mouseover text hidden in the latest teaser states that it's "used for vendors." This likely means either Kingsmarch is not going core or it's gonna be divorced from gold if it stays. It's possible that we might be using gold to buy things from vendors now instead of the ol' transmute/alch or they're just adding more vendors which take gold.
- EE Trickster being used in the trailer for the Betrayal changes pretty much guarantees Trickster and/or Ephemeral Edge are getting shafted.
- GGG have used a term they've never used before: "core maps." What does this mean? Does this mean tiers 1-16 maps in the atlas including the unique maps? Does it also include T17's? Is it only the tiers 1-16 maps in the atlas without the uniques? Or is this wording simply due to this expansion adding non-'core' maps disconnected from the rest of the atlas which were visible in the first trailer?
- They added a QoL feature from POE 2 which gives a faint outline to items which can be modified by a currency when you hover the currency over them. It is visible in the second trailer going over horizon orbs working on guardian maps.

For the more hidden things shown in teasers other fellow autists have found:
Updates from hidden shit on the new video on QOL shit (which confirmed the last bullet point I mentioned):

- Kingsmarch is going core. The question is how much do they change it. I doubt recombinators are going core because they're a quite solved crafting method with a higher chance of deterministic mods than average and I don't think shipping survives without a nerf.
- Ol' vendors still sell shit to you for orbs, seems like gold might be for more new vendors GGG are adding (unless we get baited and it's just Faustus still).

What's everyone thinking of leaguestarting now that (most) patch notes are out? Or maybe you'll be like many people and change your mind 5 minutes before the league starts... 🤔

Going to be playing SSF again (as always!). I'm probably going for some Berserker Slams (Earthshatter specifically, but I might try out Volcanic Fissure of Snaking). I played it as a fresh start towards the end of Settlers to try it out in anticipation of 3.26, and it felt very nice and tanky. Got it up to level 94 on a 5-link and a decent-at-best weapon I got in early maps. Then I got tired of playing fucking Settlers again so I stopped there.
Although... if someone smart comes up with some Spellslinger shenanigans I might bait myself into doing that since it got buffed a bit. Probably smarter to do Spellslinger shit as my second character though. :\
