pathfinder pick up game. [recruiting] - head West for an early death

17:00- 21:00 est suits me. If we can get 3 more players we will be good. First come first served.

Ah my bad. Will you be running two separate missions at once or will different players be jumping in mid-mission?

it depends- if we can get a different four people to join then im happy to run two at once. If the party finishes the first mission at a village im happy for people to jump in.

the first four missions are all designed as short single session jobs. I am expecting the party to complete it, rng permitting. in which case it will be a fresh mission on the 29th.

Picking up from our PM conversation, @Vitriol (I can't see your latest reply due to the forum maintenance) - I'll be working all of this Thursday so I'll probably have to jump in at a later date. :/

that's fine- if you can make a week on friday dusk is in the same boat.

I might be able to show up on Thursday, but that's cutting it a tad close to when I might need to ollie-outie - so that's a likely yes, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

I think i'll just try and swallow my Autism about talking online. if you dont mind having me i can come on thursdays aswell.

I'm incredibly lazy/autistic but are you using pathfinder for the character sheets or a different system?

pathfinder-there is one in roll20

Thursdays party-

@Randall Fragg
@Aquinas
@Tranhuviya
@Sallet Lad Jim (maybe)

your choices of missions are:

The young Paladin Griseto has heard from the Confraternus Order that a scriptorium in the north west has recently begun producing magical scrolls and the Abbot has put out a call for agents to aid in sourcing materials for inks.

The Fighter Kor Dragmire has heard rumours of a powerful artifact in an old temple to the south West.

Zov zadok the Alchemist learned from a client that the former bureaucrat-turned-venture-capitalist, Sir Rett Smythe, who bought a title to a hamlet in the south from the Lord Provost of Groveton, has not received a penny of his due taxes or rents from his new subjects. He will pay a little for a potion to ease his trouble, but far more for a solution to the issue.

Ballzek the Kobold is aware the Kobold matriarch is worried after her patriarch led 200 kobolds to investigate claims by a scouting party to have found a more fitting burrow a few days north of the city than the slum the clan currently inhabits. The patriarch has not been heard from since and his mate will no doubt pay handsomely for information as to his fate.

Player for numerous years. Played from 2nd onto 5th ed D&D, GURPS, Hackmaster, Mutants and Masterminds, Pathfinder, etc, etc. Is there any spots still left open in this? And am I correct that we would be starting out at level one? Also, are you allowing all feats?

there are always spots open- the OP has the details. this is intended to be ad hoc drop in/drop out style of hex crawl. The mission one party is full but mission 2 is still free. missions should normally take only one sesh and when you start exploring further afield not more than 2.

starting at level one, all feats allowed.

roll 3d6 per attribute in roll20. You can boost one low stat to 9 for free. boosting other low stats after that requires a corresponding high stat be reduced to 11. priority on mission spaces will go to those who have played least as the campaign progresses.

you can select traits but must select corresponding disadvantages.

if you want to play anything odd in terms of race drop me a wee line first.

I say we got get us some ink for magic scrolls. That way we can get in on early investment opportunities and make this a profitable enterprise.

Griseto, as a Brother, would very much prefer to get materials for ink. In addition, those scrolls might be used to help the poor and sick. However, he figures the following:

  • If Smythe's problems are solved, he might be negotiated with to supply ink to the abbey.
  • The Kobolds might pose a challenge to find and negotiate with, but they might fit as well. Not to mention whatever causes 200 souls to disappear might be worth smiting.

There is a kobold ghetto in the town. You are all aware of it. It is referred to coloquialy as The Snarl.

We are not going to do the boring premission tavern stuff so once you pick a mission buy the rations you need (2 per day minimum to avoid minor penalties) and we will start the adventure on the open road :)

All the starting missions are roughly two days travel provided you dont get lost or sidetracked.
