I only met these three women once and they were in a different state to me, but you bet your ass they were all lolcows. They're exactly like the idiots in the trans community today, only they were menopausal cis women in the 2000's.
I was pretty involved in the LGBT community as a teenager. As such, I thought the man-hating lesbian stereotype was pretty much dead in the 2000's. I was sadly wrong because at least 3 of these women decided to gatecrash my Godmother's funeral.
My Godmother later in life identified as gay, after having 3 sons and divorcing her husband. Had a few long-term girlfriends, was chill and we'd chat about LGBT issues. Unfortunately she developed terminal cancer and passed away when I was 16. We flew interstate to the funeral. My mum was my Godmother's best friend since university and knew all her close friends. According to people at the actual funeral, none of them knew these women knew my Godmother.
The first issue arose after the service. As the coffin was being transported to the hearse, all three of them descended on the coffin, dramatically embraced it and yelled (not shouted, but in raised voices) 'GOODBYE MY LESBIAN SISTER'. Looks were exchanged amongst us all at this flock of brightly coloured bulldykes.
We get to the interment service. Her three sons, two of whom are teenagers, are crying. As the coffin was being lowered, they broke out in unanimous song. It was, and I am not shitting you, a song about how men are all scum. Now, my Godmother had a terrible relationship to her ex, who was a massive prick. But they knew that her sons, one of whom was 14, were there. They sang it right in front of where they stood, since they pushed to the front of the group when it began to be lowered.
We get to the wake and NOBODY knows them. Some think they've seen them at some pride events but none of her actual friends knew them. The other lesbians there were all disgusted. Everyone was horrified. They didn't really do anything offensive and they stuck to themselves. Thankfully held back from telling her sons they were scum.
And that is my tale of fucking clowns masquerading as lesbian women.
