Pet Peeves

People who don't wash their hands enough. It's absolutely frustrating watching someone eat messy/greasy finger food and immediately touch hardware or other people. Keep that shit separate, or at least carry some wet wipes around or something.

It feels autistic, but hygiene's just a big deal to me having grown up with very acne-prone skin *sigh*

When people put used matches back in the box, or empty sweet wrappers back into the bag.
People who feel the need to comment on my eating/exercise habits but have nothing of value to add, and seem to think I don't know that a sausage sandwich is bad for you...

As someone who wears glasses occasionally and who got excellent grades throughout school it was annoying when some of my colleagues thought I was a nerd even though I happened to be good at sports and be very outgoing. Thankfully this died down when I reached High School.

No, you're not a nerd. You're a four-eyes!

"Welcome to ___, may I take your order?"
"Uhhh... hold on, hold, give me a second..."

It isn't so bad if a place isn't packed, like during the lunch hour, but in general, especially at the drive-thru window, is a pet peeve of mine.

Repetition.

I hate things being repeated and it just annoys the shit out of me. Example: Can you go to the store? Me: Just a sec I need to finish something. 2 seconds later: CAN YOU GO TO THE STORE YOU RETARD

Also people making fun of people for wearing makeup. :P

When people attempt to understand a new field, fail, and instead of either giving up gracefully or making a more concerted effort to understand, say, "The rules of this are stupid. Fuck that nonsense. I'm doing my own thing." and think that, somehow, their interpretation of the rules as "stupid" absolves them from having to give a shit about the rules.

I saw this recently when someone I already dislike for being heavily narcissistic took a foray into the field of music, failed to grasp why key signatures and the staff system are in place, actually misinterpreted some stuff about theory (implied that C major and A minor are the exact same thing), and then gave up and said "I'm just gonna compose what sounds good, fuck the rules, they're dumb." Sounds like sour grapes to me, just admit you didn't fucking get it

  1. Chewing sounds. Gum in particular but if I hear you chewing anything it grosses me the fuck out. I can barely stand to hear myself chew anything.
  2. Adults singing in public for no reason. Are you above the age of five and... not exceptional? Then shut your Goddamn mouth, the world is not your personal American Idol audition.
  3. "Expresso"
  4. "Chipoltee"
  5. People who make fun of people who don't use text speak, emojis, etc. Like, I only gained the ability to text about... six years ago? And even then, I didn't suddenly forget how grammar and spelling work. I'll use the occasional abbreviation but sometimes I get texts from my coworkers that might as well be in Cyrillic for all I can understand them. And it's always SO HILARIOUS that I ask for clarification. Just send it to me in English the first time and we'll all get along just fine.
  6. When someone obviously has mucus or something in their throat and they WON'T CLEAR IT. That's so fucking gross!

When I go to the grocery store, and know what I want and exactly where it is, and just as I get to the aisle, someone pulls up a cart right in front of the shit I need and then stands around humming and hawing because they don't know what they want and I have to wait for them to fucking move so I can grab my shit. It really is my own personal curse.

I can't stand it when people lick their fingers after eating, smacking their lips and being obnoxious in general.

I have a relative that does this and it drives me nuts.

People who double park in a crowded parking lot are going to the lowest levels of hell.

Leaving dishes in the sink. Either wash those fuckers up or put them somewhere out of the way, because leaving them to fester in the sink is just annoying and stops anyone else from using the sink
