Ralph is in denial how bad this is for him. He lives off of donations from his Livestream, while some his top supporters are frustrated with his pill/booze relapse. As an "entertainer" he has nothing to provide. No blog, no live events, no merch, and for now no show. Even as pathetic as some his orbiters are, they want at least something for their money.

There was a mystery female involved (he said he didn’t think *she* had been there before) and SCUBA diving too! A repeat of his awesome beach trip with his ‘girlfriend’ (who ah love) last year.

I guess that all fell apart, sadly. Could be why he’s been moping around the shack drowning his sorrows in xannies and Ambien during the holidays.

I am going to bet the mystery female was his rehab nurse that he bought presents for and wanted to surprise her with a trip to Columbia but paying the court fees in Minnesota threw a wrench in his plan and he could no longer afford the trip. He spent the holiday alone on pills while Rehab Nurse had her holes filled by a much wealthier gringo who could afford the nicer things in life, like an office chair that doesn't collapse.

How dare anyone accuse Ethan Oliver Ralph of substance abuse! On what ground!?

I think most polysubstance abusers are proud of their acquired tolerances and get offended when you call them drunk when in fact they're drunk, high, tweaking, pilled, and k-holed. They just aren't on the level of sophistication to appreciate what he is experiencing, just like his high-minded cuckoldry.

Dr Crispy here. Pretty sure Ambien (and the other Z-drugs) causes the same brain retarding (and the same feelings) as drunkenness. It reduces the activity of your GABA neurotransmitters, making your slur your speech, uneasy on your feet, lose impulse control, quicker to anger but also easier to please etc etc.

That's why it's supposed to only be prescribed for the very short term and only the most exceptional cases of insomnia. It's 6 beers in a pill. It's also why it's one of the most abused prescription drugs.

Calling it. I think the ambien-arc is where the story ends. In an already drunken stooper he'll take a whole sheet and not wake up.

Honestly, if we give Ralph the benefit of the doubt (that he doesn't deserve), I think his liver is so fucked that he doesn't really have a lot of tolerance anymore. So maybe that half an ambien story is true but he's so bad at processing chemicals that he just goes from sober to completely fucked the minute he takes a small amount of medicine. That's just a guess of course.
