The most likely explanations I have are he either refused to pay a repair bill, he sold it, or it got repoed. All are relatively plausible. Ralph allegedly didn't pay a small fee to secure his degree, so him discarding the truck over a bill doesn't require a huge leap of faith. The other 2 are more finnicky since I haven't a clue if it's normal to "here keys, give money" over there or if Nissan has enough of a presence to snag a car back.

Maybe she wanted Xander to know āhis daddyā or she liked giving Ralph a goal he would fail at (regular, punctual visit) or most likely it was to piss off Pantsu. Ralph having to jet off to see his son while she was stuck with the failed reroll.
It keeps Ralph powerless. Right now there is no reason in the world Pantsu canāt have their daughter in NY living her best life, while her alcoholic father tries to survive in a Mexican hovel.
