I just watched this video and came specifically to discuss it. She is so careful not to say that their death was specifically her trauma - she stated that it could have been enough - and she makes sure she throws in a little disclaimer that their death may not be the entire story. But essentially, she confirms that their death was a big trauma and she wasn't comforted by her parents. Who, presumably, were also grieving. I'd be interested to know how they died - was that particularly traumatic? Or did they just expire?

Was the trauma that led to DID not supposed to be 'repeated and sustained' or something of that nature? Or was that just something Chloe of DissociaDID made up that I took as fact? Either way, this fits in with my theory that as a teenager Jess thought DID was cool and she wanted to LARP as a sexy emo boy, but now she's a married woman with a baby trying to make a career for herself, she wants to move away from the lies she told to make herself seem cool when she was young, so she's pursuing the recovery route.

Probably one of my least popular opinions around here because people seem to like Jess but I just do not believe a word out of her mouth. I'm convinced she's embarrassed by what she made up as an edgy teenager and now she's trying to save face. Now her family are hearing about the kind of trauma that is actually required to cause something like DID, they're asking questions and she's backtracking so it doesn't sound like she ever hinted that her family molested or beat her. All of those don't assume my trauma disclaimers are such overcompensation.

Jess has gone on the record to say that the “repeated and consistent” trauma she has was something “that wouldn’t have happened if I was a boy” so I think that’s the main trauma and the grandparents dying is just the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The fact that she insists on dressing so modestly and that all of her current alters in her adulthood are male (she did have one female alter who was a trauma bearer and did nothing but cry and scream) tells me that there was probably some serious CSA or exploitation in some way.

I'd forgotten that detail - had she not been a boy. Entirely false, of course. Boys are not exempt from sexual abuse if that was the implication. I can't think of any abuse exclusively experienced by females. FGM only partially qualifies, though Jess does not belong to a culture where that is common practice. Of course, females are more often abused, and are more likely to report abuse, but I digress.

The screaming female 'alter' certainly would suggest some serious abuse but Jess contradicts herself about as much as the average DIDTuber so I don't quite buy it personally. As for dressing modestly, that likely comes from low self esteem. She whines about being fat from time to time.

Agreed. I like her face; it is a touch masculine which is likely the appeal for her gay husband but she rounds it out with weight gain. I don't see her as complacent in terms of their relationship. She is the one who invented a selection of male personas for her husbands wish fulfilment. She enjoyed the LARP up until a point; she probably still enjoys it in the bedroom.

She was a child when these alters formed I think she just didn't know that boys also could be raped.

In the video she said this about her grandparents about at 9:30 :

I think her sexual traumas started after her grandad's got sick. Her grandparents couldn't look after her anymore and she ended in a bad place with a pedo.

I'm one of those who believes she really has DID. I don't want to convince anyone but I write a list about the reasons why people believe and like her. It won't contain powerful reasons but small things which matter to ppl.

- In the whole DID community she is the only one we are sure was diagnosed.
I mean you can see she is chatting with her therapist on Twitter, they made a collab video and so on.
Btw, she will make a video with Remy Aquarone too.
-She was professionally recommended.
-You can see that her channel isn't a business.
She makes only one video in a month. Her channel is 6 yo and she has only 73 vids. It's obvious that she doesn't make it for money. You can barely see ads on her videos. She doesn't have a ton of merch. She doesn't use clickbait titles and thumbnails.
-She was on TV multiple times.
One of the documentary movies you can see Remy Aquarone who admits she has DID. I know what is the opinion of the Kiwifarms about Remy but he counts as a recognized DID expert.
-She has a psychological degree.
-She has a family and a job.
So we can see she is able to live a functional life with her disorder.

I heard her voice record about her flashback. I think even if DID really doesn't exist she has C-PTSD.
She showed her brain scan in her DID self-made documentary video. We can see the neurobiological impact of PTSD in this scan.
I mean it's another point. Even if she is lying she is lying herself too. She doesn't want to screw people over.

These types of servers that have an extensive trigger list piss me off.
