It sounds pretty convincing to me which is one of the reasons I struggle to decide whether Jess is faking, exaggerating, or delusional.

Well the fact that she videotaped this entire incident makes me believe it is somewhat exaggerated since she knew she would be posting it online. It's also interesting how she posted this video at a time where questions about her DID were being raised on the farms/twitter. It's as if she was trying to prove herself to the skeptics...

My theory is that she has some underlying panic disorder + iatrogenic DID that resulted from her visits with Aquarone.

True - I hadn't thought about that. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt but I suppose by the very nature of remembering to start recording during a flashback you have to be somewhat fraudulent. I struggle to understand Jess. She isn't as overt as the others we discuss here but she still decided to monetise her mental health and display it all quite publicly. That in itself should be a red flag, but when we're watching the most extreme histrionics elsewhere in the DID community, she seems quite tame. I think that's how she gets the sympathy vote from many, myself occasionally included - she just allows the others to embarrass themselves as a useful smokescreen for her own weird behaviour which in comparison doesn't seem as strange.

Jess of M&M seems to be having another breakdown despite putting on a positive front whenever people question how healthy it is for her child to be watching her space out and drop pills for hours every day. It must be fairly traumatic to grow up hearing your Mother alternate between screaming and crying, and spacing out and being totally mentally absent. Perhaps she's hoping to turn her channel into a family vlog with severe mental illness as the USP. Watch a kid develop anxiety and attachment issues in real time? I think people forget that this is all happening whilst her kid is in the house observing the whole thing.

Do you think is that for you, comrade?

Was the vote for the charity on her Patreon or was it a foregone conclusion that FPP were going to win?

They have a private forum on their website for paying members. 🤔

It’s probably not a stretch to guess that the training course Chloe triggered her way out of before demanding the certificate was one of theirs. Gotta get those credits so she can call herself an ‘expert-by-experience’.

Alongside several ESTD-UK courses involving Aquafresco, I think this one is the jewel in their crown:

FWIW, Amytriptyline is what the NHS give you to help you sleep when they’re not really taking you seriously.

I’d be prone to agree, although a diazepam/Valium prescription is much trickier to come across these days. You tend to get stuck with beta-blockers or antihystamines unless things are real bad (these are some teeny weeny diazepam doses tho)

Not many conclusions can be drawn from a peak inside someone’s medicine cabinet, but considering the level of disruption that DID supposedly causes I think it’s a red flag when the pills a so called system is prescribed are a run of the mill antidepressant/anxiolytic combo.

If a psychiatrist were to hear what these malingerers describe on their YouTube channels and presume for the worst that they weren’t bullshitting, they’d all be on heavy antipsychotic prescriptions. Quite a different kettle of fish to the SSRIs that GPs fling at gloomy teenagers and which have little impact on your day to day functioning.

But nah these pussies don’t commit hard enough to get to that level, which I’m surprised by as I thought malingerers would see a neuroleptic prescription as as much of a badge of honour as any of the other horrors they gleefully report going through.

Probably goes back to what I was saying on the other thread - it’s hard enough to get neuroleptics even with a BPD diagnosis and you’re right in that they’re fucking terrified of handing out Benzos now.
Also, NICE says no

Still, it’s interesting to see that a bona fide DIDer like her isn’t on anything different to the hordes of self-diagnosed teens.

I’m not convinced that there is any medication that helps with dissociative stuff but you’d think they’d give them something which actually works for anxiety if their freak outs are as serious as they make out on YouTube.

“Stop smashing crockery Chloe and have another beta-blocker!”

I remember being in a couple of plural discord servers a while ago to see what the fuck was happening in there. There was this "info about DID" channel that a server had. After reading through it, I found this:

No, it is not okay to self diagnose because misinformation exists and because there are a lot of people out there who fake disorders. I think that speaks for itself. You get shit like this:

And then there's the whole thing that this shit is exposed to teens as well.

There was one person who had Chisaki Kai and Eri (from BNHA) as their alters, which is very ironic considering Chisaki Kai abused and exploited Eri for her quirk. Is it possible to have an abuser as an alter in the first place?

Other stuff:

Pretty sure you can't just "get an alter" if you have DID. Isn't switching involuntary if you have DID?
i believe there's supposed to be a kind of alter who has control over who is in front, so... sort of? i doubt LARPers like this person can claim to know how that works, though. also, LARPing as a southerner in text, like typing the accent and southernisms out online, is absolutely hilarious when the most """southern""" people can actually get in text is ain't/y'all and even nonnative english speakers have slipped into doing that nowadays
these DID servers seem like cesspits... imagine joining one of these for support and it's just a bunch of autists with anime icons talking uwuspeak and trying to have the most OCs :story:

I feel sorry for people who were genuinely trying to find support only to find this

I can't recall if I or anyone else in this thread has discussed The Thought House before, but MY GOD she is absolutely insufferable. White girl with a ukulele and DID and physical disabilities that her work is very ableist towards.

Follow her if you like her as a person or are curious about DID... but not, like, too curious. Respectfully curious. She's not some kind of sideshow.

Anyway, he's a DID alter character select meme.

Weird how so many people with DID have so many other problems.
And it's tragic.
Some days she has the ability to walk and others she doesn't... and some days she can jump around and dance and junk. It just depends.

I feel like this probably happens a lot.
Like a lot a lot.

Living with chronic pain and disability is awful, and it's totally possible to just straight up lose the genetic lottery and inherit a whole boatload of problems. But the attention seeking behavior raises just a few trifling doubts...

Also psychosis, lol.

That would fall in line with the concept of a “persecutor” role. I’ve seen a lot of people claiming to have alters of their irl abusers, so it’s definitely an accepted thing in the community.

"diagnosed with psychosis"
All credibility goes out the window when these people try to make it sound like they didn't diagnose themselves. Psychosis is a symptom, not a disorder. This is like being diagnosed with a cough.

In the UK ALL films that are submitted need to be screened by some kind of government-panel before they are given the proper "stamps" that allow them to go out into the world. This is a hold-over from the 1980s "video nasties" scare. One film-maker pulled an ingenious troll on them when he painted a wall with think white paint and then filmed it drying. Because every film submitted needs to go through this approval-board, they had to sit through a ten hour film of watching paint dry. I thought it was pretty clever on his part

AFAIK, it can be included in a diagnosis, ex. Bipolar 1 with psychotic features.

If anything, auditory or visual hallucinations would be more indicative of schizophrenia... But, obviously, that's not as fun as DID. No built-in community that's going to validate your magical thinking like it's the healthiest course of action.

Edit:
I forgot the autoimmune disorder.

I commented on Umbral mutilating his finger or whatever to the point where it required amputation and blaming it on a headmate, but today I read through pretty much the whole thread in its entirety. I gotta say, that was a big mistake- I had other things that needed to be done, and I'm ultimately coming away from this thread feeling pretty sick to my stomach. Seriously? There are adults, grown-ass adults with kids, who buy into this shit? That in and of itself is pretty fucked, but even more so when it turns out that some of them try to indoctrinate their children.
My addiction to insane Tumblr/Twitter phenomena is pretty tragic.

Munchies love EDS and POTS, they're right up there with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.
