Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

its abit generic, but I think the anime intro looks kinda cute, smooth animation for an indie game

thats implying people will play this beyond it's first week

Ya got a ton of youtubers making vids about it... Even to the point where they talk out of their ass about Pokemon - Like Skill Up.

Now watch as this MMO-like created out of criticism towards Gamefreak and Pokemon gets more underhanded monetization shoved inside it than Gamefreak could even DREAM of creating.
Welcome to tem lootbox shop, we got all kinds of tem boxs for ye needs.

Shiny boxs, rare boxs, boxs full of cloths for your trainer, or temtem. Just at a lowlow cost of. Your dignity.

yeah but that doesn't mean it will last long, some E-celebs were shilling lawbreakers and that never got off of the ground for it's user base

Well damn I thought Temtem was pretty neat at first especially with the unique combat system but turns out it’s slightly disappointing...the Temtem designs really disappoint me because they don’t have any distinct features that make them recognisable-there’s a fucking flying venusaur lookalike too. It’s a shame because these designs oddly motivate me to make my own fakemon designs somewhat appealing to me (at least)

Imo, Pokemon BrickBronze is the best game because you can "catch em all".
Oh and my favorite Pokemon is Sneasel.

Are you...referring to a...roblox fangame that got taken down and remade into a shitty fakemon game that also uses the same combat system as Temtem?

*cough cough* Bulbasaur is my no. 1 starter but Empoleon and most of the gen 5 Pokemon are my favourite because of their designs *cough cough*

Temtems has launched... and is immediately facing issues. To the point that the friggin discord server is crashing, and they’ve had to apply hotfixes to their hotfixes. When it’s up, the chats are overflowing with complaining about the bad queueing, people trying to silence the people complaining, and desperate virtue signalling about trans issues to drown out the other issues. It’s already a glorious clusterfuck. Will post pictures if the discord gets its shit together.

Sounds like water is also wet, It wouldn't be a MMO if it didn't have a clusterfuck of problems.

True, but you’d think that, with the wide media coverage, they’d have realised their expectations with Day 1 were going to be BTFO. Both stress tests clearly had issues, but they didn’t give themselves enough time to make a buffer of server space.

Even with the hotfixes fixing issues in-game, the queue is a killer - quickly reaching several thousand places. That suggests that the dev team really didn’t have any idea how many people would be playing.

In addition, this tweet makes me think Crema is panicking under the pressure:

This is also the Alpha version, you'd think they'd wait till they had more.

Kinda feels like they rushed a little bit so they could ride off of the pokemon hate train.

Edit:
Apparently the servers might've been DDOSd. Love how people are instantly assuming it's pokemon fans doing it.

Played the game myself, and while it was fun for a while, part of me hates that game for some of what it did.

The main one being that they locked a lot of the pokemon's mechanics, as well as fun and interesting minigames, behind a Robux paywall.

Want to use the Exp. Share? Cough up those Robux.
Want to use the use the oval charm to making breeding easier? Pay up.
Want a more detailed IV chart (Y'know, the one that is used in the actual games)? Where's those robux?
Want to use the move reminder? Gotta to get those heart scales (that are locked behind the mining minigame which is also locked behind a paywall) or 100,000 pokedollars.

They even had some interesting minigames that give some pretty cool prizes (like a Magikarp fishing game that gives you special pattern Magikarps that evolve into special pattern Gyrados & the mining minigame). Unfortunately, those are also locked behind a paywall.

Don't get me wrong, the game's fun in its own right, but fuck it in that regard.

Right, because it’s not like the game’s just been hyped beyond the dev teams capacity. It’s not like the stress tests all had issues and they didn’t give themselves enough time to fix them. No, some mystery group is ddosing the servers for no reason.

A taste of the problems: apparently, opening item boxes will freeze the game now.

Moff might be being sincere but it’s still hilarious.

Let's be honest, Temtem wouldn't have even been on anybody's radar if it weren't for SWSH's bungling. In fact if gen VIII was like the second coming of HGSS or BW I doubt any of us would even know what Temtem is.
People didn't like bw1 on release tho... Because no muh gen 1.

At the time yes, but by now they and their sequels are widely considered as the last great Pokemon titles. And it's not just a retroactive "people remembering it fondly just for nostalgia" thing either as gen VI is still relatively hated by much of the fanbase. Truly a case of you don't know what you have until it's gone.

I've always been a fan of Gen 5, I wouldn't consider it a case of don't know what you have until it's gone, it's more of a case of people bitching about a non-issue and GF taking it the wrong way.

Gotta love the plethora of Steam reviews trying to excuse this crap - "it's an alpha!"

It shouldn't be 35 for an alpha. And it shouldn't have been promoted as a finished product.

My point was if we in fact got another black and white then it would have been the perfect time because people slept on gen 5 as a whole.

Re: Gen 5, it's both understandable why the game was the way it was and why people weren't into it. It was meant to be a 'fresh start' game, with a lot of the Pokemon being made to be replacements for other pokemon, mainly gen 1s.
Stuff like Roggenrola, Woobat, Blitzle, Foongus and Bouffalant were made to be counterparts to Geodude, Zubat, Ponyta, Voltorb and Tauros.

Monster Hunter World actually did something similar, now that I think about it.

Good old Shill for a game because fuck the game it's trying to compete aginst.

Can't wait for the hugbox to get worse, and the fans to be willing to be given literal shit and be happy.

I have zero sympathy for these people.

They had multiple chances to buy Dragon Quest 11 and in both instances chose unfinished crap because of MUH NOSTALGIA. They could have been the establishing group for one of the longest running RPG series for the west, but no, no.....they had to fucking pick those member berries and buy plushies.

I hope their hell was worth it, it was by their own design. They're just like the woman who could eat nothing but cheesy potatoes for 45 years.
