Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Got an Eon Ticket from a local anime convention!!! I am pleased :D

Does anybody have a spare ORAS demo code (might have to be the PAL version) ?

Is anyone available for trading? I need to evolve my Scyther. FC is 0946-2332-9151

So now that I have the Eon Ticket in both OR and AS, I feel the best way to honor my favorite legends is to reset for shinies of them. I've been going for the better part of a day now with Latias - upwards of probably 1000-1500 (maybe even 2000) encounters so far, no dice. Hopefully I'll get it before going back to uni this weekend.

EDIT:

Should I nickname her anything? I'm not really nicknaming my legends this run, but I think shiny Latias and Latios should have nicknames. Maybe Sunrise for Latias and Sunset for Latios? Anyone else have any ideas? Oooor no wait maybe Garnet and Peridot? I'm always a sucker for gemstone names... bah, I dunno...

I'm not into nicknaming Pokemon, but Sunrise doesn't sound bad. Great find by the way.

Pokemans! Pretty obvious from my avatar that I'm still an avid pokefan. Though Whimsicott actually isn't my favourite. That honour belongs to Archeops.

Holy crap, I didn't you you could get shiny Lati@s from the Eon Ticket. Good to know. Now I just have to actually get one. Considering I live on an island in Canada... that might be difficult. (:_(

@Fialovy did you still want a shiny Furfrou? I have an extra one that I'm willing to part with, it's a level 8 male with a bold nature (no nickname), you have anything interesting you'd be willing to trade for it?

Thank you, but I have one now

What shinies have you guys been MM'ing for? I've been hatching eggs for a shiny Bagon for almost two weeks now.
It's extra silly because I don't even care about nature/stats

I would just recommend using the pokenav thing for Bagon in meteor falls, unless that little spot is too small to use it. I think you can get them in hordes too in that single room if you want it to go faster. As it's 5 (or 4 with a zubat i think) since you dont care about nature or stats.

I would be pretty interested in a Shiny Furfrou, but most of my shinies are friend safari shinies or "who knows if they're hacked" from previous gens.

I spent a good 45 minutes in meteor falls trying to get the dexnav to actually work, it's too bad they made caves fucking impossible to use it in.

Furfrou has a cute shiny.

Then I just recommend catching a Oddish/Tropius on route 119 then, it has sweet scent on it and it summons hordes 100%. in Meteor falls, Bagon in that tiny room is probably a bit 'rare' compared to zubats but encountering 5 at a time is better then one at a time and killing/running away.

The Dexnav im honestly confused on making chains and the factors that make a chain 'reset'. Nor do I have the patience to deal as I gotta breed better ralts with good natures for synchro.

Okay thanks, I'll try that out.

So far it's just a bunch of bullshit, your chances of getting a shiny don't really increase. It's only to get Pokémon with hidden abilities, egg moves and 3 perfect IV's.

With breeding without the charm it's like 1out of ~4500 or something chance of getting a shiny. (the last gens it was 1 out of ~8500 chance.) My brother got a shiny espurr by fluke that way with a perfect nature, but horrible IV spread. But In the game code and early days of XY people found out that each egg had a code that matches with trainer ids. So if the egg's hidden ID was 12345 and my trainer ID was 12345, that egg is a 100% a shiny if I hatched it. If i gave it to someone else with another ID, it just a normal, non-shiny pokemon. Nintendo patched the exploit and blocked the program used to find out the hidden IDs

But if you're ever gonna go the egg route it's gonna be long explaining, i recommend:

-getting a 'totally legit' 5-6 IV Ditto, and giving it destiny knot
-the pokemon (lets say he has 0IVs) you wanna breed with the right nature. Give that guy a Everstone. Everstones pass on the holder's nature 100%.

With each egg being hatched, it takes the IVs from the ditto to the pokemon, and eventually you'll get a 2IV or 3IV pokemon. Take this pokemon and replace the parent at the daycare. Give them the Everstone again and hatch more eggs.

3rd generation should now have 2-3 IVs 'permanently' as 90% of the eggs will have 2-3 random max IVs. The ditto will now put in the missing 3 max IVs. It's gonna get tedious but you can stop at either 5IVs with the missing IVs being in a shitty stat (ex: Talonflame having 31/0/31/31/31/31, that 0 being Attack.) or go full tryhard and get a 6IV pokemon. To get that put up the 5IV baby with the ditto and have a ton of patience.
