Kind of feels weird when a pokemon fan game with a litteral suicide joke, and a trainer who is a giant Anita Sarkeesian joke feels less immature then those discord messages.

I have to question the priorites when Being "The Most diverse Pokemon RomHack" Is more important then not looking terrble.

That is precisely what I am talking about when I talk about their priorities.

You know, i find this whole thing laughable, you see, there is this little sidequest in Pokemon Clover involving a group of Mexicans trying to cross the border

The whole thing it's mostly played for laughs, but, later in the game you find out that those Mexicans actually managed to cross the border, they just try to make a descent living as they establish a community in one the towns in the game, selling tacos in a van, and tacos are actually a held item that recovers 50hp when your Pokemon's health is low (pretty useful later in the game) and the leader of the group is a Mariachi guy who ends up being a surprisingly likeable character, what i'm trying to say is, a game made by people on 4chan, full of political incorrect humor, has a far better representation of a minority, certainly it's a lot more than a lazy palette swap added just to claim "This is the most diverse pokemon hackrom! UwU!"

That's the most wholesome shit I've seen all day, and much better representation than palette swapping. You can't make someone look black just by changing the skin color. We all look pretty different, turns out.

I found this while digging around, too. Based as fuck.

No self-respected adult should get so worked up about a romhack that doesn't take itself seriously, but then again, i'm talking about someone with preferred pronouns on their nickname

And one of those hacks that's a bunch of self inserts. I like the hack, but I more or less have to completely ignore some parts of it even exist. After this post I'll be done sperging, so indulge me at least this last time.

In case you were wondering, almost every single one has at least one shiny Pokemon, and they're mostly nicknamed, too.

Not as bad as I thought. I was expecting something much worse.

I will admit to having a bias against them. This partially comes from the Elite 4 remaining the best source of EXP in the game. Partially because there is a lot more dialogue I am leaving out.

I was expecting some dialogue trying to stick it to who ever that Insert disagrees with. A DBZ meme is pretty par for the course.

Is there any dialogue thats worse?

Anyone who makes that face should be taken out back, strapped to a wall, and shot.

Anything else would honor them.

Personally my mind always goes to the curb stomp scene from American History X.

Some of clover's mon design is unironically really good. Pixila is one of my favorites so far and if it were a real main-series mon I’d seek it out in future gens. What’s not to like about bug/fairy with a good offensive/disable moveset?
Pikotton is great too as a tank that can open with Yawn and has static so you have a chance of getting paralyze off too.

Obviously not, which is why I never said that. Tons of things that were good went into those games that he had nothing to do with.

Iwata was a rare breed. He was the sort of autistic savant that could make code roll over and play dead, and he was one of those masters of his craft that was a gigantic help from a technical standpoint on everything he ever worked on. For another example of this kind of thing in action, go look at back when Konami was bleeding edge. For a Western example, go check out GameHut.

Iwata's boon to the franchise wasn't new Pokemon, gameplay elements, or features, it was crunch and code. He's a dude that fixed bugs. He's the one that helped get games running better. He's the one that remade the battle system for other systems, and optimized things so the games took up less space (and ergo, could fit more game in). All of that shit takes hands-on work and elbow grease, and isn't very fun, but it can be life and death for a game from a tech perspective.

While Sun/Moon and Sword/Shield have their share of problems, including way too much tutorialization, removing actually liked features, and so on, their biggest problems have both been technical ones. Sun and Moon were so inefficient from a data standpoint that due to duplicate models, the files for them is over 7 times what it needed to be. Sword and Shield, despite being on a vastly more powerful console, has less content than the two previous 3DS titles, more bugs, and more technical problems.

Correlation is not causation, but Iwata not being there anymore sure as shit isn't helping them.
Oh I see. Well at least you aren't retarded like r/Pokemon is. With how they talk, you'd think Iwata was somehow managing Nintendo and working on Pokémon simultaneously.

I can't wait until the next game where the game won't get past the boot screen and all these faggots continue to praise it and how it's amazing that Gamefreak is forcing people to use their imaginations again since they can't play the actual game. They're just glad to give company of their childhood money for a vastly inferior product because it's a brand they recognize.

Well...no, that's not all they added. First off, it's called hyperbole. Second of all, I'm talking about this.

I'm not a fan of the fact they used a randomization algorithm that is seeded when you start the game to determine skin color of NPCs with palettes that look more like sprite errors than different skin colors. It feels more like an afterthought than genuinely trying for some sort of diversity. Hell, there are tons of confused people on the Discord for it that post about it, to the sarcastic derision of the owners.

I'm not personally a fan of it, and I rolled back to a version that has all those features, but without this particular half-baked feature. If anyone wants that version, I can send over the IPS patch. You certainly won't find it anywhere on there anymore.
Oh wow! I remember when I saw a YouTuber make a video about this and how great the gameplay is and has customisation, which I love in a game but now has been tainted by forced diversity. Keyword FORCED because Shockslayer labels you a racist if you want to turn the feature off.
Is there anywhere I can keep up on this drama? I don't want to derail the thread but this looks entertaining.

The potential future of pokeman. Ultra Sword/Shield 2, give us another 60 dollery-doos.

Almost done with it. Simultaneously the best and worst Pokemon game ever.

Pros:
- the wild area is without question the most fun I've had with any of these games in years. Running around a massive, open world and being surprised at what I could find ate up hours that just flew by. I hope more than anything that is kept in the series and expanded upon.

- variety of pokemon right from the start is insane. Shit like Machop and Tyrogue right from the start was ridiculous and I felt like I was able to actually build a team based off of things I wanted to build a team out of, not what I was forced to make due with with whatever happened to be around at the time, and then boxed up when I finally got what I actually wanted. Stumbling onto an Eevee at pretty much the start of the game blew my mind. Can't say enough good things about the variety of creatures you run into.

- raids ended up being way more fun than I expected and pissed away a ton of time on those

- Exp share was good to prevent grinding

Cons:

- story is shit and as hand-holding as anything and only served to infuriate me. I mentioned it before but as a grown adult I found it consistently a detraction from fun, and something I said I think only children (the target demo) would likely hate even more than me. I don't think it's as bad as Sun and Moon was (I vividly remember that games shit tier narrative enraging me by just by pumping the breaks on the gameplay so often) but it's still an annoyance I can't help but mention.

- Difficulty is nil. I curbstomped every gym leader in my first try, sometime seven as I was distracted by music or YouTube videos playing in the background. I can't even chalk this u to being an expert who knew of type advantages because of my experience with the series, as enough of these were new, or ones I didn't like from previous games and thus knew little about. Didn't matter, completely demolished nearly everything on the first try. "Team Yell" also served to prove little challenge whenever they popped up.

- Very little in terms of actual exploration, while I mentioned enjoying the wild areas, very little of it wasn't laid out directly in front of me. None of the cave systems or open water navigation of previous games and it results in a noticeable dip in fun. I feel like this goes along with the "hand holding" I complained about with the story, as Point A to Point B is almost always a straight shot. Spending time on the routes to hunt monsters is a nice distraction, but those routes are always direct trails specifically where you need to go.

- Exp share, likely contributed to said lack of difficulty. Makes leveling up a single Pokemon a hassle as everyone else incrementally levels up alongside them anyway. Rare candy and Exp candy from raids were a worthwhile substitute, but I would have prefered to just be able to turn off Exp Share temporarily instead of just relying on raid rewards.

According to the save screen, I've spend roughly 40 hours on it so far and haven't beaten it yet (very close though) and can't say I haven't had a shitload of fun with it, but problems are noticeable and tbh unforgivable this far along in the series. Overall grade B-/C+.
