Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Excluding Kanto being in the 2nd gen games because I feel like that's the cop-out answer, I think the most comprehensive post games that exist are in the 3rd gen Pokémon games. The Emerald Battle Frontier is amazing, and better than Platinum's IMO, and the amount of stuff they added with the Sevii Islands in FRLG is impressive.

No, same shit. Comparing boxers to competitive pokemon players is all you need to do to see how dumb and shallow it is. Knowing a basic type chart and looking up the meta is enough to be competitive in pokemon battling.

.....

One of these is impressive, the others the Smash crowd wanting to pretend they're hot shit because they know to use ice beam on dragonite or surf on charizard.
If this is all you think high level competitive Pokémon battling is you clearly don't understand how any of it works. It's so, so much more complicated than "Paper beats Rock". The math involved in what EVs and IVs to choose for each individual team member to counter very specific Pokémon with specific natures alone gets to extremely autistic rabbit hole levels of depth.

You can't just win by picking up any meta team and jumping into randoms. An even semi-competent player who understands the numbers side can beat a newbie running a meta team of all Legendaries with mons like Zigzagoon and Weedle.

You have to be clinically retarded to believe this. It's not a complex game, the battle system doesn't allow real depth to it and changing EV numbers doesn't mean shit for complexity.

Legendary pokemon battling is no different to baby cup pokemon battling. You pick the super effective move for the current target or the target you think your opponent will switch into. Maybe you have a set up move or two before you go on the rape train. It's insulting to take it seriously.
You can boil down any fighting game down to this though. You want to win, of course you’re going to use the best techniques and strategies be it Pokémon, Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics.

Also Pokémon is literally baby’s first RPG. It’s not supposed to be a master class in tactics.

You have something like +50 mons in a tier and 20+ usable picks from bellow with the right match up/build.
There's 10 + team archetypes. Most mons have more than 2-3 viable sets.
That's a lot of complexity and liberty when creating a competitive team.

And well that's just teambuilding not fighting

The difference in strategies and predictions is on two different scales. In street fighter you're on the ground and your opponent is over you. Do you dragon punch, block, duck and block, go for a throw counter? That's 4 decisions in 1 second of gameplay. In Pokemon every turn is Have I used my set up move? If I have is my opponent going to switch? Do I need to switch? That's 3 questions which define the entire competitive battling scene. Pokemon competitive players are just smash fags in denial about being casual shitters. If you want to battle your friends that's cool but don't pretend you're some MLG pro gamer because you hacked a charizard in and know to use flame thrower on bulbasaur.

Did you miss the part where I said Pokémon was baby’s first rpg? Of course they’re on two different scales. They’re two completely different games aimed at two different demographics and skill levels.
Pokémon is literally an introduction to team building and strategy. No one is claiming that it’s the end all be all of tactical games.

If you’re not having fun I suggest you either take a break or play something else. It’s Pokémon there’s no reason to be this salty lol

What it shouldn't be is 4 of the 5 starting hours be innane and dull characters no ones interested in except for pedos drawing lolicon telling you that pikachu exists, they really love pikachu and they can't wait to catch all the pikachus.
Thd fuck does pedos have to do with early game!? It’s a game made for children! Why the hell are you this autistic about it!? Your almost as bad as the sonic fans!

edit: of course

So here a interesting question. So legends is taking place in the past right, do you guys think they are going to reference the whole, people marrying pokemon in the past thing, that came up in the games?
And give the rule 34 artist more fuel? No thank you.

Does Pokemon make you happy? If so, what about it makes you happy? If not, what about it makes you unhappy?

Pokemon still makes me happy. Pokemon GO is still pretty fun(with a spoofer client), PokeMMO and other user-created Pokemon games are fun, and my favorite Pokemon Zangoose, Drapion, and Toxtricity are very cool dudes. Older games from the Gen 4 to Gen 5 era are still great games and are worth revisiting too. Its all a very large chunk of my early childhood, and I still loce the franchise, even if I don't like the direction its taking.

Jesus they joined yesterday and already have 100 posts? I wouldn't be surprised if this was a sock account of one of those banned crazies with nothing to do but post here.

No my pokerinos! Don't tell me how bad they are and I'm a man child! Just get hyped for the next game and pretend the series hasn't been a declining train wreck for decades! Pokemon go saved the series from collapsing.

I don't know what the fuck you care about from this game. You don't like the collectathon, you don't like the story, you don't like the competitive battling and your issues with it are worse in the main game so... what the fuck are you looking for? What makes a good Pokemon game for you?

Gen 1-3 and the gamecube adventures are all good games. I said collecting eggs isn't content, which is different from collecting pokemon which is content. Having to find, weaken and capture a pokemon is different to riding a bike back and forth hoping a blue fish appears. Exploring areas like Mt. Moon is fun and seeing what new pokemon appear as you go deeper and manage your potions is a good time. Especially if you're not some sperg who reads all the spoilers and goes into a generation blind instead of using serebii to cherry pick your pokemon before you play the game.
