Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I actually liked Voltorb Flip but that's probably because I like Picross

Slot machines in games are dull and overrated

My main contention with the Voltorb Flip is that you can't just buy Coins directly like in the Game Corner, forcing you to play the game to get what you want from it. The Japanese game corner had slots, which are seemingly random at first glance, and completely lacked the Card Flip game they had in Gen II, but they at least still had the ability to buy coins. Also the HGSS slots were the most advanced the series ever had, and with the right knowledge were extremely easy to manipulate to get a lot of coins with little effort.

Okay, Poke-Tuber HoopsandHiphop has brought to my attention that a THIRD Gold and Silver prototype has surfaced. Alternate Politoed, Beta Castform, generic fox.

Yet I can’t find this information on TCRF.

Does anyone know? This better not be the same dump as that weird looking Celebi.

TCRF is ran by the same types who run most wiki sites. Troons and goons.
Wouldn't bother using it anymore than to archive what is interesting to you.
Site has effectively been on ice since at least 2017 and adding any useful new relevant information on articles is quickly removed and labeled "spam". It wont be getting better any time soon.

They have a shocking amount of crappy 2D mario clones no one cares about documented and growing to this day, but anything actually interesting from the ps2/original Xbox era and forward is sparse at best. That includes pokemon titles past GEN 2.

Wasnt Castform a GEN 3 pokemon?

There is a noticable "anti-Piracy screen" trend where people are manufacturing fake cut content that almost looks legitimate to the uninitiated. There has not ever been any official "anti piracy" screen for any DS era games.

So It could be fake but its not unheard of for designs to be reworked for subsequent generations. Like how the original giratina form looks like it was reworked into a GEN 5 legendary with a similar head shape and body color

Next song in the collab thing Pokemon's doing dropped. Katy Perry, "Electric".
And as expected, it barely has anything to do with Pokémon as a franchise apart from Pikachu and co. appearing in the music video. What was the point of hyping this up? They didn't even put Raichu in the video!

Where do some people get this mentality that tone wise gen 1 was much darker than the rest of the series while everything else is sanitized? I played all gens and the only “dark” parts of Kanto were Mewtwo’s origin and a Marowak being killed offscreen. Gen 7 was far darker. I know it’s a small minority but the edgyness of gen 1 is oversold.
Also is it an unpopular opinion to think Shudo is a bit overrated? I mean he did a lot of great work on the anime and I appreciate his creativity but his original vision for the series portrayed in his light novels was edgy in a bad way. The series would have sucked if he got full creative control over it.

Its probably more because gen 1 left alot of shit up to the imagination on how the world worked, I mean look at shit like lavender town or the slowpoke tail stuff in gen 2. Early on pokemon did feel sorta like animals where people would poach them, abuse them, and eventually die. The gen 7 games have their own sense of darkness with the UBs and the stuff with lusimene's family but it doesn't leave much to the imagination. Again not a KANTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOmer but sometimes less is more yah know?

True but you can only go so far with the whole “leave it up to your imagination” bit until it turns into a crutch as an excuse to be lazy and skimp out on world building. Also as an adult I want lore and world building to sink my teeth into, actual substance. I know I shouldn’t expect that from a Pokemon game but still.

Besides Slowpoke tails can be used in curry in SwSh so we still have that carried over, and whether or not they were gathered ethically or from abused Slowpoke illegally can be left up to the imagination. Or from factory farms.

Pretty hilarious because Giovanni only abandoned his son to go rethink his life after Red kicked his butt. Ghetsis didn't even father N, but even after adopting him, he mentally and emotionally stinted the boy by allowing him to be raised alongside (abused) Pokémon, all while putting thoughts of being royalty in his head when all he was doing was making a narcissistic image of himself in an unsuspecting child and use him as a puppet to forge his twisted utopia. Then Ghetsis tries to kill N for insubordination and the player for interfering.

But Gen I is the gritty one because... Glitch City, I guess.

Also N’s room is creepy as hell. The toys are said to have been recently played with and everything looks like something you’s see in a child’s room. So the implications of a grown adult being confined to a room full of toys to make sure his mind is still “innocent” is pretty messed up.

Don't forget that slowpokes can regrow their tails along with them being so dim that they can hardly feel pain.

I honestly think that is the childhood speaking. I do not mea nostalgia; I think children added way more imagination than wha the games allowed in the gaps in their memories. Helping matters is how bare-bones the plot really was compared to even Mother 1, another RPG (in the NES!) with a child perspective. Red from the games is not a handsom edgy hardcore; he is actually more similar to Ash from the anime. The two even have the same name (Satoshi) in the original Nipponese releases.

I think there is also how the games were made to make the child feel awesome: even at 10 years of age (or even younguer, not even really needing to know how to read), you can g out into the world, battle with others, defeat an evil organisation, and even become the champion all b yourself! Moreover, you defeat a lot of adults, some of them even acknowledging your strength. When you play later games (especially a the pace Nintendo was releasing them), you are naturally going to grow older, thus diluting that 'I can beat grown-ups!!!' feeling.
