It's very clearly a rape charge that is the pending charge. The hospital evaluation of Barb will have done more than just gave her a rapekit. She will have been assessed by a psychiatrist as well, I wouldn't be surprised if they have confirmed that either she couldn't possibly have consented OR she told them he raped her.

At the very least, she has confirmed the allegations that the audio evidence raises so they can hold him for incest till they DNA evidence comes back.

Chris could legit see a 20-30 year sentence if they really throw the book at him and have multiple counts to charge.

Acting like Chris has already been convicted and is going away to be locked up for decades in some federal penitentiary to share a cell with a 6'6 300lb black guy named Bubba. First, Chris was just arrested yesterday and his case is still being built by the detectives, heck we don't even have the full list of charges that Chris is being charged with besides incest and God-Bear knows what else. It might take weeks before the full list of charges is even dropped on us all the while Chris idles away in his cell.

Second, you need to reread this thread again and understand that not every arrest automatically leads to a trial. We're not guaranteed to witness the Trial of The Century with Chris facing off against the likes of Null, Michael Snyder, Mary Lee Walsh, Megan, etc, etc, on the witness stand. The legal system in America is as complicated as the IRS code and many more things can happen between an arrest and a conviction. Chris might end up pleading guilty to a lesser charge, receive a probation, be sent to a mental health facility to get his noggin checked out, etc, etc. and never see the inside of a jail. There's so many variables in play, that it's impossible to predict what the exact sentence will finally end up being.

So if this were my case, the proposed plea deal probably looks a little like this: A plea of guilty to a single count of rape, a single count of financial abuse of the elderly, and one count violating a misdemeanour. In exchange, what many jurisdictions call a suspended sentence - this is a form of probation, but it counts as a conviction. The incentive isn't to avoid being convicted, it's to avoid prison. So Chris would now be a convicted felon, and a registered sex offender. Also, there would of course be conditions to the probation. Meeting with a probation officer, sex offender therapy, regular therapy, no contact with Barb, and restitution (making the victim whole - so every month he's gonna give us a set amount to put back in her pocket until all the money he took is paid back) would be some of the conditions.

And like the man says, heck this is just one of the possible outcomes of this whole sitution that we may witness. No flashy trial, no ex-trolls testifying on witness stand, no front-page media attention aka OJ trial, etc. Just a quiet plea deal in the courtroom and off to supervised therapy. And that's just one of the outcomes, there could be many others in play. It all depends what happens between the prosecutors, the defense lawyers, the presiding judge, etc. The wheels of Justice may spin slowly in America, but they do spin. And God-Bear help you then. So leave it to the experts for now to do their job, grab your popcorn and just enjoy the Truman Chris-Show as it unfolds.

What a wild ride this whole weekend has been. First was the initial allegations, then there was him lying to Null about taking Barb's money, and now he's been placed under arrest and is beeing investigated and probably will end up in jail for at least a year or ten at the most. Obviously I am disgusted about him raping his own mother but the whole situation is happening so fast and keeps getting worse for Chris that I can't help but find it funny. It's the first time Chris has faced any real repercussions for the bad things he has done, so I'm very curious to see how spending some time in the slammer will do for him. Maybe he'll finally straighten himself out, but then again it is Chris so I don't have much hope.
