Should sticker notifications be brought back?

So don't fucking lecture me that I'm taking away a beloved feature with no downside. I want to fucking strangle you fucking faggots. I've been dealing with you dumb mongoloid pieces of shit and your fucking sticker fetish for over 5 fucking years and I am done. No more notifications. Figure out something else.
How does this fix users using DM chains as hugboxes? Maybe I'm crazy that looks like the real problem to me.

please, stress, really emphasize to me just how useful the arbitrary links to every post you've ever made are. it's a really convincing argument. it cuts to the quick. it really makes me want to reply with a full and honest response. the site is simply navigable without them.
I'm not gonna argue in favour or against it, but I do wanna ask: How is it any simpler to get rid of a feature, instead of changing it to being disabled by default?

A lot of people post assorted funny & cute photos in Random Pics & Gifs that they just pull from Reddit or wherever, and farm stickers there. That is largely what that thread is. You reliably get like a dozen likes/winners/whatevers and it's like a private little awards show where people come out of the woodwork to tell you how great you are for your miniscule contribution. That is why so many people like the sticker notifications.

Post quality never equates to lots of upvotes, because a well-written post isn't as punchy as a riff on a tranny, or a picture of a cute puppy.
i think it was more that he had an epiphany of sorts, that people were using the site incorrectly, that using reacts to go back to threads you already posted in is stupid. let's say someone made a post that got a lot of pozrates, what would happen is that they would return to the thread they posted in and kind of farm updoots instead of engaging with other threads that could even potentially be hostile to their ideas.

sorry if i'm putting words in your mouth, nool
What the hell is going on with this point? "The post quality was never set to a proper standard". "The site was used incorrectly". What the fuck does that even mean? You're treating the use of an internet forum like a high art of etiquette and an extension of the halls of debate when this site is at its core, a gossip corner with a news section. What kind of faggotry are you trying to inject?

if the reason they're making dm chains is to avoid negrates affecting their reaction score, removing the reaction score and reaction alerts would allow them to post their shit in a thread without worrying about that, thus removing the need for annoying dm chains that people keep getting invited to.

it's null's forum, so ultimately he gets to call the shots on user experience.

Thanks, but that was not what I was talking about. I already used the watched threads list. I do not want any thread I have posted in once to be permanently added to the watched threads list until I take it off, even if it's something I'm only going to be interested in intermittently or only for a day or two.

What I would want is "Threads with post by $USER within 48 hours", and ideally, I would want it to throw a notification. Like this, but with a recency threshold.

It's a desire path. That's the entire point, it's navigable but it's more time to do so.

It reduces friction to do things that otherwise take longer and in particular require multiple page loads on a finicky onion site.

The path of least of resistance is to limit participation in the 2 dozen threads I care enough about to have permanently watched because the cost of keeping up with threads outside that is getting too high.

I already looked into the available options because I was missing many replies and all profile messages because of the notification spam, but the notification spam turned out to be the easiest way to navigate the forum.

Do not run to Discord or DMs, stay in this place without reaction stickers and guess if a quoted reply is an insult or not. Notifications instantly told you what a user thought of your post, now you won't know what they think until you look in the thread yourself.
Or do. Fuck off to Discord. I don't know what you're hoping to hear as a response.

No please, I need the most belligerent retarded faggots addicted to instant gratification to stick around and shit up threads with easy reaction score bait posts making the most obvious observations in every single goddamn fucking featured thread ever pinned to the front page. PLEASE. I NEED IT.

But, what's supposed to be the "correct" way to do it then? Did he ever say that? I had work so I wasn't at the stream earlier.
he's effectively forcing you to use the site the correct way by removing the gamification aspect of the reaction score as well as removing the reaction alerts so you don't just navigate the site via how other people feel about your posts.

Almost as if your main issue has always been that you treated sticker notifs as dopamine hits but you know damn well that's why Null got rid of them so you have to make up lies to convince him to bring those back.
I don't think it's particularly productive to project and assume everyone is riding some high over this. Or assuming I in particular care that strongly. I'm just telling it how I see it. Contempt for the userbase and giving them less reasons to engage with the site probably isn't the best way to grow the site. Are there retards that take the reaction score system too seriously? Yes. But should everyone have their little bit of fun taken away just because those who get off on it?

tl;dr if Null wants to hate his audience and userbase, that's cool. but I'm not gonna be that monkey and have various allegations projected onto me and gunt-guard every decision he makes.
