these reddit posts only reinforce my belief that poly people are extremely immature people that are the product of our hedonistic culture. rather than put time and effort into working on their failing relationship, (or just fucking ending it), they'd want to find a 'quick fix' that has the added bonus of instant gratification. and they do it over and over to chase that honeymoon phase high.

i spend a lot of time laughing at this thread, but also lowkey feeling depressed by how pathetic and miserable some of these people are. like how prevalent is this shit?

Not very. I've never known a polygamist in real life, and only once over the internet, despite having known people from Algeria to Australia. In some countries in Africa and Asia it's more common of course, but still not the norm except for the very rich.

Obviously you're going to see a lot of lolcows on a site focused on mocking them.

How prevalent? Not very. If you filter out the 20-something year old “Hey I just read about poly, and it seems soooo cool” people, most of the poly-people seem to mostly be 30-40 year old, pretty unfuckable minorities. Like the “pansexual femme person” who’s in a triad with two “bisexuals”.

I reckon that only 10% or so of the people who are attracted to the concept or philosophy (or just wants to get laid!) actually stick with it.

The other 90% quickly realize that polyamory in practice is neither as easy or as fun as they were led to believe, and quickly disappear in a flurry of “Why is this so hard?!” or “Wife is having her first date, I’m dying inside” posts.

I'm presuming you don't mean "minorities" in the American sense of "black people", because I really don't think there are too many of those on Reddit.

There is also the benefit of being able to turn a blind eye to your problems, with a bonus of woke points attached. "Oh, she's not cheating on me, we're just poly! I'm giving my wife all the space she needs to make her own decisions because I'm so respectful and feminist!"

I like to think of myself as a cuck-connoisseur.

Someone who appreciates that particular, unique flavor of failure that cuckolds bring to the lolcow table, like a wine snob appreciates a fine Bourgogne.

And if you’re anything like me, boy oh boy does r/polyamory fucking DELIVER.

Here’s my pick of the day from that never ending festival of cuckoldry.

(Shit, even the title is almost too cuck to be true!)

Presenting: My wife just left me, but I can’t be more proud of her

Literally what the fuck did I even just read? This is like someone looked at standard cuckshit and went "oh you think that's faggotrocious? lmao hold my beer."

"This past weekend I behaved in old patterns and made the mistake of asking her for sex and to initiate more like I had asked her to earlier in the week."

So it's bad to ask your wife for sex, and for her to show some interest in sex with you.

Can we not offer this man a more merciful death?

There was a lot of psychobabble in there but he never said what he supposedly did so wrong other than asking her to have sex. Was that really all it was? :cringe:

Ah, the tribulations of a male feminist! It gets way worse...

“I asked her, even begged her, to leave me because I thought her behavior patterns were similar to those of a partner in an abusive relationship”.

I gotta admit, I was leaning towards ‘This MUST be a parody!’ When I got to this part.

Sounds like he's prone to jealousy and temper tantrums as well as being a Stage 5 Clinger. Probably not someone who should ever have agreed to poly.

ETA: You can be a good "Male feminist" and not acquiesce to demands you are inherently uncomfortable with. Dude needs to remove his balls from his wife's purse and move on.

Apparently he asked her for sex, and then “emotionally attacked her” during a book discussion with really close friends.

The next morning he “asked her to snuggle him” and a few hours later she told him she was leaving him. She told him to be well, and he “said thank you with tears in his eyes”.

Despite having a serious breakdown and wanting his wife back, he can’t help but be awed and proud over her breaking up with him:

“Her decision to take care of herself is the single greatest thing I’ve ever seen! I’m so proud of her!”

Yay! He finally had his wish come true!

I’m mostly surprised that she didn’t kick him to the curb earlier. He sounds super clingy and needy.

Not to mention: Who the fuck wants to deal with a husband who begs you to leave him, because he’s worried he’s being abusive?! :stress:

That penis envy bit makes me think this might be a lesbian. Which means... that this a couple of two fat lesbians, one being more mentally unstable and codependent than the other, the other lost weight and sorted out her issues and left OP for a man.
lol...
