I feel like this rating system could be simplified to three options or maybe six. Essentially two that mean good, two that are neutral, and two that are bad.

Yeah, probably, but it's more fun this way.I feel like this rating system could be simplified to three options or maybe six. Essentially two that mean good, two that are neutral, and two that are bad.
I agree. It's eventually going to be like emoticons where there are only a few people use and the rest get ignored.I feel like this rating system could be simplified to three options or maybe six. Essentially two that mean good, two that are neutral, and two that are bad.

I think there's room for options like A-Log, late, creative, funny etc. I just think there should only be like 6-7 available. Enough options so people can have specific enough opinions. This seems needlessly complicated. Post ratings are a good idea in general, but there are way too many options and there's way too much overlap between the options. What's wrong with having just like/dislike/autistic?
I don't think there's any reason why you can't restrict yourself to those buttons if you personally don't want to use the rest. This seems needlessly complicated. Agreed. There's a reason why I tried to limit the amount of emoticons, or at least hid the majority of them from the default view. It's okay to have fun stuff, but once 100% of stuff is stupid jerkoff bullshit, it all loses meaning.I think there's room for options like A-Log, late, creative, funny etc. I just think there should only be like 6-7 available. No, that's exactly the point. I want to get rid of posts. We get far too many, especially in busy topics. If only there was some sort of way for people to express their opinions on a forum.
I agree. Not everyone feels like taking the time to post and this system streamlines it and provides a simple enough solution. No, that's exactly the point. I want to get rid of posts. We get far too many, especially in busy topics.
How many posts are just shit like, "", or "wow yeah I agree great post"? How many replies to late information are just telling them that it's already been posted?
This information is CONSTANT, and it applies to every thread. "I like this", "that made me laugh", "this was informative", "this has already been posted", "what the fuck are you on about you sperg" -- these are forum universal constants, and removing posts like that from the conversation is a good thing.

Worst case scenario is those posts don't go away and AT LEAST YOU TRIED!No, that's exactly the point. I want to get rid of posts. We get far too many, especially in busy topics.
